Flourist is an established Mill + Bakery located in East Vancouver. We are a community-focused business centred around flour milling, high-quality baking, and an ethical, traceable food supply chain.

We work directly with Canadian farmers to source organically grown grains, which we mill fresh and use to make our sourdough breads, handmade pastries, and seasonal vegetarian menu.

About the Role

We're looking for experienced, enthusiastic Front of House team members to join our team.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a busy café, enjoys making great coffee, and understands the importance of genuine, generous and thoughtful customer service.

This role combines barista work, food service, and retail customer service. We're looking for someone who is confident working in a fast-paced environment, takes initiative, and enjoys being part of a hardworking team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality espresso drinks and other beverages.
• Provide warm, friendly, and attentive customer service.
• Take orders and process payments accurately.
• Develop a strong knowledge of our menu, baked goods, flour, and retail products.
• Serve food and beverages and maintain an inviting dining environment.
• Restock and maintain bakery displays and retail shelves.
• Complete daily opening, closing, cleaning, and organizational tasks.
• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation.
• Work collaboratively with the bakery, kitchen, and Front of House team to ensure smooth daily service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a busy café or restaurant is preferred.
• Barista experience and familiarity with quality espresso preparation are strong assets.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable taking initiative.
• A positive attitude and a genuine enjoyment of working with people.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.

An interest in cooking, baking, sourdough bread, farming, or agriculture is a bonus.

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting wage of $19/hour, increasing to $20/hour after 3 months.
• Tips in addition to hourly wages.
• Benefits available after 6 months for full time.
