Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Dining Room Host at Terroir at the Old Orchard Inn, to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests. As the first point of contact, you will be responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating arrangements. Your enthusiasm and excellent communication skills will set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. This paid position offers a dynamic environment where hospitality and customer service are at the forefront of everything you do. MUST BE AVAILABLE MORNINGS AND AFTERNOONS ON WEEKDAYS.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly as they arrive, providing a friendly and professional first impression
  • Manage reservations efficiently, confirming bookings and accommodating walk-in guests
  • Escort guests to their tables, ensuring comfort and satisfaction throughout their visit
  • Maintain a clean and organized host stand, ready to assist guests promptly
  • Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate seating and service flow
  • Handle guest inquiries over the phone with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
  • Assist with maintaining restaurant cleanliness and adhering to health and safety standards

Experience

  • Previous experience in guest services, hospitality, or food service is preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha is a plus but not necessary
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations or hotel experience is advantageous but not required
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
