Intermediate Accountant – Public Accounting Firm (Midtown Toronto)
Location: Yonge & Eglinton | Full-Time

ABOUT US
Established in 1990, our midtown Toronto accounting firm (Yonge & Eglinton) provides a full range of financial, accounting, audit, and taxation services to individuals and owner-managed businesses across diverse industries. ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking an Intermediate Accountant with 5+ years of experience in public accounting to join our team. In this role, you will take ownership of client files, assist with financial reporting, and manage both personal and corporate tax engagements. This position offers the opportunity to build strong client relationships and continue developing technical expertise in a supportive environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare corporate (T2), personal (T1), and trust tax returns (T3), including HST filings, payroll including T4 and T5's
  • Complete a range of T1 and T2 returns from intermediate to complex
  • Analyze client financial data and documentation
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting working papers
  • Communicate with clients to request documents and provide updates
  • Liaise with the CRA to resolve client tax issues
  • Draft client correspondence and engagement documents
  • Collaborate with team members and assist with additional duties as required
  • Uphold firm standards and contribute to a professional, positive office culture

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a public accounting firm
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian personal (T1) and corporate tax returns (T2)
  • Experience preparing Trust and Estate Returns (T3) is an asset
  • Experience with Profile/TaxPrep tax software is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and CaseWare
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or College Accounting Diploma; working towards CPA designation is an asset
  • Familiarity with audit and review engagements is an asset
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime during busy tax seasons
