Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient part time Cashier/Barista to join our team! The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and creating high-quality beverages in a fast-paced environment. This role involves preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all customers. Previous experience in the service or food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required; training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, cashiering, and customer service while working in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to company standards
  • Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries promptly
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using basic math skills
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
  • Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety standards are met
  • Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including assembling snacks or light menu items
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality
  • Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with food industry regulations

Skills

  • Prior experience as a Barista or in the food service industry is preferred
  • Proficiency with POS systems, especially Square POS, for order entry and cashiering
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and order calculations
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and assist customers seamlessly
