Medical Office Assistant

Position: Medical Office Assistant
Status: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Start Wage: $22.00 per hour
Benefits: Healthcare Spending Account available

About Us

North Dundas Medical Clinic is a busy, multi-physician practice providing high-quality medical care to the community. Our team supports family physicians as well as surgeons. We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Office Assistant to join our administrative team.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and schedule appointments
  • Collect, update, and maintain patient information in electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Assist with billing, coding, and OHIP/GEM submissions
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  • Manage office supplies, inventory, and daily operational needs
  • Perform general administrative duties including filing, faxing, scanning, and preparing documents
  • Provide support to physicians, surgeons, and clinical staff as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a medical office or administrative health-care setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinic procedures
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
