Alo Restaurant is seeking experienced Server's Assistants to join our team. Experience in a fine dining space is a strong asset. Scheduling availability beginning at 3pm from Tuesday to Saturday is necessary for this role.

The Alo Food Group creates and operates restaurants of regard in Toronto. Since the opening of Alo -- our fine-dining flagship -- in 2015, we have aimed to make luxuries approachable while elevating time-honoured favourites. We offer our guests a continuing relationship in venues where the deliciousness of the food is met by a passion for hospitality. Along with Alo, our portfolio of restaurants includes Aloette (2017); Alobar Yorkville (2018); Salon (2019), an intimate space for private dining; and Aloette Go (2021), a take-out-and-delivery-optimized version of the original.

Assistant Servers are to provide a tidy restaurant space, ensure tables are free of debris and plates & glassware are cleared in a swift, timely fashion. Assistant Servers work quickly and deliberately while always maintaining a calm demeanor. They run food and should be available for the kitchen at all times. Assistant Servers never show signs of distress, and are professional, gracious and genuine at all times. The following duties are expected of Assistant Servers at Alo:

  • Ensuring proper linen is stocked for the dining room, kitchen, and washrooms
  • Clearing, crumbing & re-setting tables
  • Running food and beverages
  • Completing cleaning duties along with servers to ensure proper cleanliness of dining room and staff area
  • Ensuring all areas of the dining room are neatly organized during service
  • Ensuring guests’ water choices are served and topped up in a timely manner
  • Ensuring menu knowledge is up to date, and being able to describe dishes to guests as their dinner is served to them

Assistant Servers at Alo may be assigned to a specific section, or assigned the priority of running food. Regardless of which an employee is assigned, they are anticipated to be able to assist with all responsibilities nightly.
