Location - This role is in-person at the Northwestern Polytechnic Health Education Centre in Grande Prairie.

This is a full-time administrative position that is based in Grande Prairie at the Northwestern Polytechnic Health Education Centre, located in the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team responsible for the comprehensive delivery of the four-year MD curriculum within the Northern Alberta Medical Program (NAMP).

The NAMP offers learners the opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience across diverse northern Alberta communities, emphasizing rural and regional healthcare.

Under the direction and supervision of the Team Lead, Curriculum, the Assessment Administrator is a member of the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Northern Alberta Medical Program’s administrative team. Working in collaboration with the MD program Assessment team in Edmonton, this position will support the local NAMP Assessment needs.

The Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry is one of the world’s top academic health science centres. With 21 departments, multiple research institutes and centres, and a focus on excellence in education, research, and clinical care, the faculty trains outstanding medical and dental professionals and drives global health innovation in collaboration with partners across sectors.
  • Work with the local NAMP assessment team and relevant staff in Edmonton to ensure smooth coordination of all aspects of NAMP program assessments, including planning, room bookings delivery, and post-exam reporting.
  • Maintain comprehensive exam delivery schedules and logistics for all years and ensure effective stakeholder communication.
  • Coordinate and implement Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE), including training examiners and managing standardized patients as required.
  • Assist with managing the local Standardized Patient (SP) program, covering recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling.
  • Ensure student learning accommodation needs are met by coordinating with the Academic Success Center and managing exam logistics to ensure that students are well supported.
  • Provide training to local staff on exam administration, proctoring, equipment use, and software systems.
  • Oversee student attendance processes, including processing absence requests and consulting with the Assistant Dean, Assessment, to ensure clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative, financial, and overall support to ensure the effective operational support of the assessment, standardized patient and accommodations aspects of the NAMP program.
  • Post-Secondary Degree in Education required; a combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Possess professional written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when operating in ambiguous or complex environments, supported by strong problem-solving skills and team-based decision-making.
  • Exhibit exceptional organization and time management abilities, including multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks effectively, and meeting deadlines independently; event planning experience is considered a valuable asset.
  • Have excellent technical skills (computers and other office machines), including aptitude in MS Office and Google Suite, and the ability to learn new software platforms as necessary.
  • An understanding of or direct experience with providing student accommodations is an asset.
