About the Role

Are you high-energy, enthusiastic, and love working with young children? Little Kickers is looking for passionate Youth Soccer Coaches to join our team right here in Fredericton!

In this role you you’ll be introducing local children aged 18 months to 8 years to the fundamentals of soccer through fun, play-based learning at our weekend and evening programs.

No prior professional coaching experience is necessary—we provide full training. Whether you are a student, athlete, early childhood educator, or simply someone who loves working with youth, this is a fun and rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in our community.

The coaching role is part-time – Saturday, Sunday mornings, and weekday evenings. Coaching hours per week range from 3 to 8 hours, depending on your availability and willingness to coach additional classes or locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and assist structured and fun soccer sessions following the Little Kickers curriculum.
• Keep classes engaging, energetic, and safe while fostering a positive learning environment.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive environment. Use your "inner child" to creatively handle scenarios like a crying toddler or a group losing focus.
• Build strong rapport with young participants and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.
• Set up and pack down equipment for weekly sessions, and track attendance.
• Serve as an enthusiastic brand ambassador for Little Kickers in the local community.

What We’re Looking For

• Passion for Youth Development: Energetic, patient, and reliable with a genuine love for working with early-years children.
• The "Wow" Factor: A REALLY outgoing and confident personality. You must be comfortable being silly and playful to connect with toddlers.
• Communication Pros: Excellent verbal skills to engage both children during play and parents during "sideline" discussions.
• Positive Attitude: High energy, approachable, and proactive.
• Sports Background (Bonus): Playing or coaching experience in soccer or youth recreation is a plus, but passion and personality come first!
• Reliability: We operate year-round. Consistent weekend availability is a must.
• Educational background: Early Childhood Education/Child Youth Worker, Kinesiology or Physical Education, or other studies/background in Child Care.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Reliable Transportation to class locations.
• Ability to demonstrate drills and stay active for 3+ hours.
• A valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (required by New Brunswick youth sport regulations).
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain it).
