Expand Staffing Solutions is urgently seeking experienced Mechanical Installation Technicians for industrial installation projects across the Lower Mainland. This opportunity is ideal for skilled technicians with experience in conveyor systems, mechanical assembly, and platform and mezzanine installation.

Position Details

  • Locations: Surrey and Pitt Meadows, BC
  • Schedule: Monday to Saturday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Job Type: Contract / Project-Based

Key Responsibilities

  • Install platforms, mezzanines, and conveyor systems.
  • Complete conveyor installation, tie-ins, and mechanical assembly.
  • Perform minor field modifications and mechanical adjustments as required.
  • Carry out conveyor belt tracking and stitching.
  • Install side guides and safety netting after conveyor tracking is complete.
  • Read and interpret installation drawings, technical instructions, and equipment layouts.
  • Use impact drills and hand tools to complete mechanical installations.
  • Follow site safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Work collaboratively with the installation team to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Mandatory Certifications

  • Working at Heights (WAH) / Fall Arrest
  • Aerial Work Platform (AWP)
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • WHMIS
  • Background check

Forklift certification is preferred.

Candidates must be prepared to provide the information required for the background check.

Mandatory PPE & Tools

Candidates must supply their own:

  • High-visibility safety vest
  • Cut-resistant gloves
  • Fall arrest harness
  • Type 2 hard hat with chin strap
  • CSA-approved steel-toe safety boots (6–8 inches high)
  • CSA-approved safety glasses
  • Hearing protection, when required
  • Impact drill and basic installer hand tools

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in mechanical installation, conveyor systems, or industrial assembly.
  • Ability to work at heights and follow all site safety requirements.
  • Familiarity with mechanical drawings, tools, and installation procedures.
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working 10-hour shifts, six days per week.
  • Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and commitment to workplace safety.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 48.0 per week
