We are currently seeking a dedicated and vigilant Residential Security Guard to join our team. As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of residents and property within the assigned residential community. Your primary focus will be to maintain a safe environment by patrolling the premises, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding to any security incidents or emergencies. This role requires excellent observational skills, exceptional judgment, and the ability to handle potentially stressful situations with professionalism.

We will have housing provided in Kelowna if you are willing to relocate, the staff housing site will be very cheap monthly.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols to ensure the security of residential buildings, common areas, and parking lots.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems to detect and respond to any security breaches or suspicious activities promptly.
• Respond to security incidents, emergencies, or requests for assistance from residents or staff in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Enforce community rules and regulations, including parking regulations and access control protocols.
• Provide a visible security presence to deter unauthorized entry, theft, vandalism, or any other criminal activity.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and irregularities, including writing detailed reports.
• Interact with residents, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner, addressing any concerns or inquiries.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services as necessary.
• Conduct inspections to identify and report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or needed repairs.
• Stay up to date with security protocols, procedures, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a security guard or in a similar role is preferred.
• Strong observational skills and the ability to detect and assess potential security risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, visitors, and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
• Sound knowledge of security procedures, emergency protocols, and access control systems.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform regular patrols and respond to emergencies efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills to operate security equipment and maintain accurate records.
• Valid security guard license or certification (if applicable) in compliance with local regulations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
