Administration Coordinator - Disability Accident & Sickness
Location: Remote - Canada


Empire life is looking to hire an Administration Coordinator - Disability Accident & Sickness to join our Group Operations team!

What you’ll be working on
  • Process policy applications and update the administration system accurately and efficiently ensuring coverage changes are entered in a timely manner and reflected accurately.
  • Prepare insurance documents and contracts and ensure procedures and processes are kept up-to-date.
  • Monitor the progress of multiple ongoing implementations and provide regular updates to the customers and distribution partners.
  • Provide prompt and courteous resolution of enquiries (phone & email) from customers and distribution partners; utilize industry knowledge, standards and internal processes to creatively provide solutions and resolution to complex issues that minimize escalation
  • Apply knowledge of systems, products, processes and contract wording to quickly and efficiently resolve challenges that arise during the implementation process to ensure a smooth implementation process for the customer
  • Act as the subject matter expert; research, validate and document procedures and communicate changes to key stakeholders; identify, provide input and make recommendations for process and procedure improvements
  • Prepare a variety of reports to validate financial and administrative data; communicate with customers to ensure data is correct and contractual obligations are being met; take corrective action in a timely manner to ensure accurate management reporting and communicate changes to internal and external stakeholders
  • Document exceptions and escalations with appropriate details in the certificate file to ensure that internal stakeholders are aware of exceptional circumstances

What we’re looking for you to have

  • Post-secondary education in business administration or related discipline
  • 1+ years work experience managing accident & sickness benefits or customer service
  • Knowledge of individual disability products
  • Ability to prioritize/adapt and balance multiple tasks and attention to detail/accuracy
  • Customer focus, service orientation
  • Well-developed written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member
  • Ability to apply policy terms and make timely decisions to solve problems
  • Ability to research, analyze, evaluate, negotiate, make decisions and resolve problems
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, internet and database software
