Tridon Communications is growing, and we are seeking a motivated Junior Fiber Structured Cabling Technician to join our team in Edmonton.

Job Summary:

This entry-level position is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in fiber optic and structured cabling installations. The role involves assisting senior technicians in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic and structured cabling systems. This position offers valuable training and development opportunities in a dynamic and growing industry.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in the installation and termination of fiber optic cables.
  • Support senior technicians in the installation of structured cabling systems, including CAT5e,
  • CAT6, and fiber optic cables.
  • Learn and adhere to industry standards and best practices for fiber optic and structured cabling installations.
  • Assist with pulling, routing, and dressing cables according to project specifications.
  • Perform basic testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic and copper cables.
  • Assist in the setup and configuration of networking equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and quality standards.

Qualifications/Must Haves:

  • Diploma or equivalent; current enrollment or recent graduation from a technical school or college program preferred.
  • Basic understanding of fiber optic and structured cabling systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools used in cabling installations.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in the field.

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
