Pass on this one
Operations Specialist (Ancien employé) –  Burnaby, BC1 octobre 2018
The pay is salary, and you will stay late every shift, meaning no OT pay. No vacation time for the first year. They claim lots of cross training (which is true) but it's only because this company is so cheap that they are grossly understaffed. Some people may like this idea, but your pay won't reflect the skills you're expected to learn.

Your start time will also change dramatically after you start. Evening shifts will suddenly become early morning shifts. A keycard is required to enter the facility, which you will never get, and if you work nights when all the doors are locked it becomes a dangerous situation. You will have to walk a block in the dark to enter the warehouse side and walk through, past moving forklifts and equipment to get back in.

There is NO LUNCHROOM for non-teamsters, no free coffee, this is an office straight out of the 80s. No one takes their coffee breaks because it's so busy and it really seems frowned upon for some reason.
Points positifs
wage, some staff are very kind
Points négatifs
too many to list

Linehaul Driver (Employé actuel) –  Winnipeg, MB6 mai 2018
The company isn't too bad to work for they are willing to work with us for time off and emergencies. The management in Winnipeg could use some help. They also provide hotels when needed.
Points positifs
You get to see a lot of Canada and the USA at no expense to yourself.
Points négatifs
long hours and not much thanks for work you do

Never any miles. Too much siting in a hotel for very little pay. Its a pin to pin place that is nice but u have to beg for miles. Old trailers and not fun to deal with the USA

Lots of work delegating and blaming someone else for tasks not done.
Union (Employé actuel) –  Burnaby, BC19 septembre 2017
High management turnover, typically 6mos-2yrs.
Management has no leadership skills, no vision or direction.
Micromanaging, office politics and high school mentality of inner and outer circles throughout the company.
Unionized environment is a world for themselves.
Union employees with 2 or more years at the company are in a good place.
New hires don't last a year by being on call, barely making part time hours despite being promised full time job after probation or within 6mos.
Dangerous working conditions, high risk of fatigue, poor equipment (or lack of) for dock or drivers.
Pay is good if you don't mind working in a mentally toxic environment (for the most part).

You will quit before you get fired...
Points positifs
Relatively easy to get the job due to high rate of turnover.
Points négatifs
Long hours, no work - life balance. US based corporation. No promotion from within.

TERMINAL RECORDS & CUSTOMS CLERK (Ancien employé) –  Burnaby, BC13 septembre 2012
All aspects of dock office administration. Opening and closing shifts on weekends, working as part of a supervisory team. Comprehensive knowledge of operations achieved. Multi-tasking required, but difficult at times depending on daily demands. Management and co-workers were exceptional. Challenges of the work made the job challenging and therefore both enjoyable and challenging.
Points positifs
challenging work place.
Points négatifs
often short staffed.
