a typical day at work is pretty hectic first off because normally parents drop off their kids nearly at the same time as other parents. but the you get to start the day make breakfast, small group, table activities, crafts. then lunch arrives, we serve lunch or we help the child serve themselves. after lunch is nap time we change diapers and move on to comforting the child till they are asleep then the paper work begins until they wake up, to play some more, go outside, explore and even just relax if they need it, then its pick up time. we clean the room put everything away and prepare for the next day. go home relax and do some documentation about the day.
i have learnt to handle many different behavior and special needs, give them what they need and how to comfort them. we supervise children all day and keep track of how many children we have at all times.
the culture of this childcare is a open door policy witch means parents/ caregivers/gardien can come to visit their child for as long or whenever they please.
management is okay i feel as though since we are such a new center that our supervisor comes when they can. but more often would help the center even more.
the most enjoyable part is the children.
best job to interact with kids and be able to grow with children and see them learn as they play.
