I join xpo ikea 1.5 month ago. I like it a lot. My manager make me feel special every day and tell me I am important to the business and always make time and answer all questions to me and help every one and show much support. I have fun team members and we all work in one together to get the jobs complete. We help out each other always and work in a team. It’s nice we celebrate birthday or a pizza with a great job done. I want to go with Xpo for a long time.
Nice team members, good manager, and learn I was taught patience for the customers
Taking bus home late at night
Day shift had 6 people doing the jobs of double that. Night dispatchers were so stressed out they constantly made mistakes. 4 different mangers that would pass the buck to each other then turn off their phones. Very poor employee retention. No focus on fixing reoccuring problems, just on getting through the day. Treated their most loyal workers so poorly they left. Dispatchers blamed for not being able to contact drivers with no/full voicemails. Swaying focus on office issues without acknowledging the root issue i.e. "Please take your break" "Complete daily surveys" "check all emails and voicemail" no one to cover your station/written up for missing calls while handling surveys/not enough staff to take calls while listening to all voicemails. Paid below industry standard even after min wage went up. Had regional bosses come out to blow hot air at us and fired the employee who kept bringing up pay.
occasional free food
Lean Staffing, low pay, bad management
With my time with this company, I have learned about Customs Import and Export paperwork process and Customer Service. I have also used by my existing skills from previous places of employment and my recent diploma from Louis Riel Arts Technology Centre. I have taken courses with this Company with their On Line XPO University Program. I enjoy working with the people and the different work Incentives the company offers. There is a lot to learn and room for advancement.

Evening Shift and very busy office.
Let me gather my thoughts about working for 2 months at XPO Mississauga XTN (Not to be confused with XPO Ikea Last Mile Miss.)...
Was a temp promised work until 12/29, but was cut unexpectedly around American thanksgiving due to “lack of work”. The HR manager avoided telling me when my last day was (it changed three times) and who’s decision it was. The ending was abrupt but even though I’m currently jobless I feel a sense of relief not to be there anymore and I’m happy to be cut free at the end of the day from this absolute nightmare of a job. From day one you’ll notice their Dixie building is very dirty. On several occasions I’ve seen one very tired janitor walking around but I’m not sure what she does all day. The women’s restroom on the 2nd floor has had dried liquids running down the wall the entire time I’ve been there. You won’t want to bring a lunch either for fear of bacteria through their dirt-crusted employee fridge. Free coffee is very generous from management but never see anyone drinking it so draw your own conclusions... The job itself is basically trying to get your own assignments done while being barraged by non-stop customs bond, damage and shortage calls because they are so understaffed that although employees work their hardest all day every day, they are extremely overwhelmed. Because the volume and nature of work for this call center job is directly affected by mistakes other employees or even customers make it gets much harder when everyone everywhere is making mistakes (e.g. not inputting correct delivery information or not getting a bond cleared for two weeks that is on your report because everyone is so just so overwhelmed) it will affect you directly as it sits in the - plus...

If you like to sit on the phone all day and explain to people why their delivery hasn’t shown up on its 7th attempt. Listen to people scream and cry while management doesn’t care. Track down truck drivers who don’t speak English AND don’t care to even tell you when they’re a) showing up to work 6 hours late b) skipping deliveries you’ve CONFIRMED. Or c) have a broken truck for the millionth time and you have to reschedule their deliveries. This is the job. If the people I worked with weren’t so kind (because everyone is suffering tbh) working there would have been a human rights violation.
Pays minimum wage (below average logistics company standard) high rate for both employees and managers turnover. You will meet new employee and managers every week. And you will see people leave often. No training provider. Poor equipment. Employee are left to fend for themselves with issues
Experience and friendly coworker
Minimum wage, poor management, stressful hours, constant change to work schedule, no manager around when you need them, so many claims from customers. I could go on and on but please, find better jobs. XPO lastmile division should be your very very very last choice in life for a Job
you should only work here to gain experience. poor management with almost minimum salary. a very high turnover rate. very stressful work. does not provide full benefit.
gaining experience, good colleagues
stresssful, poor management, poor salary
They have a great name and reputation in Europe and in the USA but look closely to the Canadian comments... Scary! Especially their Last Mile division! No onboarding process, no training, no work culture, cheap Swedish table as a desk, no values and very poor management, you will meet a new manager every 6-12 months and a new colleague almost every month, not because the business is growing or because they are bad but because they have enough! Good luck if you are joigning XPO Last Mile Canada inc.
Free coffee, bright offices
Can't name all, not enough space!
Csr and dispatch team were great easy to work with . But management sucks really bad at the office in Montreal ,Lachine . 2 new managers both hated in the office , extremelly fake will smille in your face but wont tell you youre wrong doings , then fire you seemingly out of the blue , 7 people quit in a period of 5 weeks because of the new managers and because of the Vice president of directors totall a**holee !!! Talk and curse to their employee and talk bad behind your back, makes you feel uncomfortable . Would not recommend
No set times for breaks, management, no proper training, gossip
They are a labour board night mare. If you have vacation days and you want to take vacation they tell you to quit to take your vacation. Do not apply here at all.. Find somewhere with better pay and better lunch hours and better management that knows what they are doing.
not a great experience with this place and the corporation had a change and no explanation on the future with new merge. hope the best for the corporation in the future.
friendly at times
long hours / poor work conditions / poor management and organization
