The work was very fast paced, where production was number one priority. The majority of workers had been employed with Cord long term, and rarely complained of being "out of work". Management were always available and eager to help to get the job done.
The shift seemed to go by fast because of the lack of "down time".
The drive to site everyday was rather long.

A typical day at work created a great learning environment, many co-workers willing to help. The most enjoyable and hardest part of the job was on those days of extreme weather. However Worley Parsons was very accommodating to the safety and needs of each and every employee.
hardest part of the job working in -40. a typical day would be a 12hr day working out on the pipe line. management was really good and the supervisors worked with you.
good money, great benefits
Great pay, close to home, they expect a lot of hours out of you though, with nothing other than salary as compensation. They always say you can refuse the extra work but they don't tell you there are only so many times you can refuse until they find someone that won't. Management is slow to get the ball rolling when it comes to advancement (such as bumping pay once you've completed a year of apprenticeship, and favoritism is rampant. Fairly lax on safety, they do not do pre employment D+A tests, and incidents usually get downplayed so nobody has to take a drug test afterwards. They look after you money wise, benefits from Mercon are very good too. They also provide most PPE for you.
expect too much from you (extra shifts, longer shifts, etc)
