Not a bad place if you are an engineer. Not a great place if you are in IT. Probably pretty average work environment. I would return, but only as a transition to somewhere else.
Best coffee machine I've ever drank from.
Not much upward mobility opportunities for IT in Markham
WorleyParsons is an okay company to work for. It all depends on what experience you have and what projects you are working on. I joined during an upswing, which lasted about a year. Once the major project ended, things spiraled down quickly and heads started to roll.

Cold calling clients and meeting with clients to close deals. I learned a lot about marketing and how to find out how to market companies and products. management was excellent, People were great. Hardest part of the job was traveling everywhere.
Strong engineering contractor operating in a number of industry segments. Starting to become involved in some interesting niche areas which offer real opportunities. Good company to work for with good work/life balance, good compensation practices and good managers.
Worked many years with great people until we were acquired by WorleyParsons. Didn't take long for Worley to make a complete mess of a great company with the profitable local business market. Absolutely the worst upper managed globally run company i have ever witnessed or been a part of. They have no idea what is going on at the front line and staff wer disposable regardless of stature they brought to the business, Zero loyalty.
Local staff were a pleasure to work with
CEO completely killed the company.
WP has a big culture of balancing family and life. WP improving their Contract and Procurement Management and there were opportunities to advance the company to a higher level of standards.
close to home
business was slow in Iron mining sector in 2013; when I left the company.
My typical day work is to distribute the engineering deliverables between the team and I. Follow up the work progress with the team. Perform the task of some deliverables (pipe / equipment sizing, inputs to PFD's and P & ID's. Piping/Mechanical specifications. Review piping stress reports. Attending the regular daily meeting with higher management. I learned that the Workshare with other offices to be managed well and more coordination's are required. The hardest part of the job is the coordination's with the other parties, it should be strengthen by higher management. I enjoyed a lot in working with Worley Parsons, as they are organized, experienced, manageable, respectable and I get new lovable friends.
