When the workload drops off, things get stressful as people struggle for billable hours before the ugly shadow of layoffs shows it's head. When there are many large projects and lots of hours to be had, still stressful with deadlines and overtime required. Pay and benefits are pretty good though.
It is a good company. Very professional. Technically sound engineering. It has a lot of experience in refinery and petrochemical industry, in mega projects to small projects, this is the field where I worked. Technical resources are immense, plenty of people, across the globe, with lots of technical knowledge you can seek help from. People are very skilled and helpful. I did not get to know the management much. I can say, in the company from top to bottom everyone is very safety conscious and everyone is committed 'Zero Harm'. Also, company is very ethically upright. Hope they have a lot of projects going.
The atmosphere within the workplace was positive and I thoroughly enjoyed going to work every day. The project buyers were a pleasure to work for which provided me with a sense of increased self confidence and growth to better my capability of fulfilling my job responsibilities.

Overtime, lots of work
Both Shell and WorleyParsons are, in my opinion, good companies to work for. They offer good benefits and reasonable flexibility for hours. The most difficult part is the long hours during shutdowns/turnarounds. The best part is the internal kudos for a job well done that exceeds expectations.
- a typical day at work involves working with all the engineering disciplines in developing deliverables required for esitmating - learned the processes involved in a Major EPC/EPCM company - management within the company is rather inconsistent - workplace culture was poor - hardest part of job was time management as so much reliance on deliverables from others. - enjoyable part of the job was effective us of all my previous skills gained from other jobs

1. Good environment to get help and work as a team. 2. I learned from every body different things. 3. good management 4. very helpful team. 5. the hardest part of the job is that it's not for long term and put you under stress of not having enough work to stay in the office. 6. the most enjoyable part of the job is gaining different experience with different people and new challenges.
free lunch and learn
very poor management, it is a good company to work for but very poorly manage and corporate structure is very stiff. management is only concern of company's profit and doesn't rely on workers comment at all
no free lunches
skin deep concern on workers comment
