Awful place to work
Management is dismissive and hypocritical. The company preaches having helpful staff, but every single time I, before being employed, or anybody I know has gone into Wilson’s, not even a single employee has come up and asked if help was needed. Sometimes there is a rush of things to do, but only for an hour or two, after that, you’re left to do absolutely nothing for like 6 hours and then management is mad that you’re not doing anything? Employees stand in groups of 4-5 and talk and ignore customers that are in blatant need of assistance.
They keep people on for a couple weeks and then fire them when their mass shipments are in and there’s no use for the worker anymore. New people are treated like worthless grunts.
People who have already been employed for a while have formed into critical and judgemental “cliques” and many of the employees are relatives of people in management. As a new employee, there is a lot to learn and if you make any small mistakes in front of the senior employees, basically everything is reported back to management. Only good part about this job is the fact that you get to be around cool plants all day.
I would not recommend working here, ever.
