As much as I love the workers!!
This place is like a war zone!!

No mercy for people just finishing a shift or starting you’ll end up doing 10-12 flights if you get the worst DDC in the afternoons. Otherwise WestJet isn’t a bad place!!

worked at WestJet for almost two years and enjoyed.
Pros:

Lots of down time between flights, great people, friendly managers team. Salary is minimum but flights benefits were awesome. Plus you'll get extra 10 buddy passes as well every year which is top of your own family flight benefits. Other medical benefits are great as well.

Wonderful company with lots of growth potential, just wish the pay was a little higher for the amount of responsibility we have, and the cost of living.

Physically demanding job working on the ramp around the planes. Compensation wasn't great, but the flight benefits, health coverage, and Share purchase program were all nice. Lots of good people working there, but had a lot of tough days, and advancement was very competitive. Ended up having to walk away after an injury. Overall, had lots of good times there, but I think they could do with treat their ground crew better.

This job pays you $15/h with a rotating bidding 6 weeks schedule. which means you have to bid for a 6 weeks schedule not knowing when your'e going to work next month. Makes it very difficult to plan anything.

Yes they do offer cheap flights, however they don't pay you enough to be able to afford them. If you do end up going you have to find someone to cover your shifts, which is sometimes impossible.

TAC is truly a dead end job. Most people working there lack motivation to move up within the company or outside of TAC. They have become content.

The employees are a revolving door, one out 4 coming in.

One employee told me when I started "Minimum Wage= Minimum effort".
Points positifs
Cheap Flights
Points négatifs
Minimum pay, schedule

your time at WestJet will be the most fun you'll have at work but your salary will be less then the same job at another company and unless you have highly specialized skills in aviation, career progression is very difficult.

First job I had after high school. TAC was a great group of workers and it was great always being out on the tarmac with the planes.

Some days the weather was terrible and you had to be prepared for it, while other days the weather is gorgeous and you just want to spend all the time outside.

Get a lot of slackers when it comes to TAC which can make some days more difficult than they need to be, but overall everyone comes ready to work and most crew chiefs won't put up with slacking.

Supervisors were great, so was the support service team whenever you needed them. Benefits were great, salary was good at the time. Lots of room for advancement too.

Westjet is known to be one of the best employers in Canada, and my experience is one that speaks truly to that. At Westjet you feel taken care of and looked after, you are part of a family. There is lots of room to move up in the company, the benefits are obviously amazing. The pay is alright, but the Westjet stock makes up for the average wage. Hardest part about the job would be working with Turn Around Crew, you don't often get to engage with customers directly so it can be hard if you aim to please customers. The hours can be wonky, but it's the airlines, what can you expect?
Points positifs
flight benefits, room to move up, stocks

Marshal in planes , unload the luggage and load in more as fast as you safely can so the flight can be on its way.
Finical job but great.
Points positifs
Fun, and great flight benefits.
Points négatifs
Hard to live in Calgary on what they pay.
