It was a decent place to work and I was very happy for the job experience. I learned a lot about the airline industry and the culture was a breath of fresh air from previous companies.

I was only at WJ a few months before Covid-19 caused major changes to the airline. However, the thorough training provided me with the knowledge and confidence that I needed to preform my job well. If there was a situation where I needed assistance, my coworkers/management team were always there for guidance and support. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and tremendously supportive. I would highly recommend WJ to anyone.

My experience got me the interview. My personality got me the job. But that’s just the start. The 2 months of training is what really does it. It’s stressful, intense and not everyone makes it through. Some leave because of scheduling, some don’t pass the exams, some just find it too hard. I almost quit before I finished but my teacher and class mates supported and encourage me to continue. I’m glad I didn’t give up.
This company puts their money where their mouth is. There is no reason to be afraid as there is plenty of support. They will give you extra training if you feel you need it. If you want to stay in touch with you coworkers you can. They pay is a little lower at the start but the benefits make up for it.

I feel honoured to be counted among the nicest people in the country because that’s who they hire.

The training is thorough allowing you to learn the fundamentals of sales and customer service. You receive great support from your instructors, team leader, coworkers, IT department, etc throughout, so you are constantly evolving.

From the minute you get into the class setting you are told this will be intense and fast paced. So fast paced that you must memorize 120 airport codes the first week and be tested on them. You have to achieve 85% on all tests or you are cut from the class. The instructors seem like they have to follow a tight schedule and the stress gets passed on to you.

I feel like it is about who you know and the company and customers come before any employee. You really have to be focused and cannot have more than 2 sick days if you wanted to move to a different area of the company.

I enjoyed my work at Westjet and the people I worked with. I worked different shifts so that sometimes took some planning at home. Overall though I found that most working there had a great attitude and were team oriented.

interesting group of people to work along side. Management has their favorites and those advance. Low salary for the work expected to do and constant monitoring evaluates your self worth to the company.
