Wendy's taught me a lot about time management and improved my communication skills. My patience also increased by interacting with customers and making sure they had a satisfactory visit at Wendy's. The overall environment at Wendy's is very welcoming.
When I applied at Wendy's, I was looking for a part time evening and/or weekends job. My availability was 4 days a week but sometimes when someone calls in sick, I don't mind coming in. The management at Wendy's took advantage of this. When coworkers left the workplace, they never got replaced and everyone else is expected to take the shifts lett behind. I am now working 6 days a week as do most of my other coworkers. The work is also not easy. I run the drive thru and is also expected to wash dishes, mop/scrub backroom floors, and clean washrooms. This is not that hard on slower days but that's not always the case. It is hard to take days off and when I do, I end up feeling guilty because I know how hard it is for the remaining people when others take time off.
1/2 of food
Understaffed, overworked, under appreciated
This workplace was not the best. I wasn't taught much and coming in, was expected to know what was supposed to be done or how everything works. No one really spoke to each other, people were very isolated. They also did not really care much about peoples availability's and for those who were part- time and still in high school were forced to take night shifts which they would explain they could not do but no one listened.

It was hard working job. it pays minimum wages which can not help me to maintain my studies or living. Living in Toronto cost me a lot of money. Wendy's did not give me a flexible hours.
Wendy's was my first job with pay. Working at Wendy's was a great learning experience. I was able to develop better listening skills and come out of my comfort zone in order to interact with customers. The hardest part of the job was just being new and having to get used to my surrounding and co-workers. At first I had very bad anxiety so I found it difficult and terrifying to interact with customers, but after some practice I became more confident in myself and my work ethic. During the summer I worked full time, approximately 8-9 hours a day. Whereas, during school time they were very flexible and understanding of my school schedule and I was able to work 2-3 days a week. The best part of the job was once again just finally gaining work experience and being able to learn how to interact with different people and personalities, whether good or bad, and learning how to handle different scenarios.
Typical day at work was taking & completing orders in a short period of time, while going above and beyond a customer's expectations for good service. Also maintaining a clean work space & restrooms. Co workers are friendly and helpful. The most enjoyable part of the job was just meeting new people everyday. The hardest part was keeping up with the pace while maintaining everything else asked of you.
Fun place and good management, most of the managers are nice and supportive. Working at wendy's requires a lot of dealing with customer which improved my customer service skills. Hardest part in working at wendy's is that there is a lot of cleaning.
nice managers and crews
a lot of cleaning
A typical day at Wendy's consists of making sure the store looks clean and stocked up for the daily rush. Making sure enough staff are working in different shifts. Directing and coaching staffs on a daily basis. What I learned about working at Wendy's is its fast pace to serving customers. hardest part of the job is getting customers complaints. The most enjoyable part of working there was making sure every customers leave happy and working with the staffs.
Working with different cultures.

Very hard at the beginning. But as you do the job more, it becomes a routine and not that much overwhelming. Managers can be tough sometimes.
When I first started working there, it was very overwhelming. I was trained on the fries first. Thank god I had experience doing the same thing at Pizza Pizza. But it was very overwhelming because I started work aroung Halloween time and that specific restaurant gets FREAKING busy during halloween due to a theme park RIGHT BESIDE! Also, one supervisor was criticizing my work and it was a disaster for the first two months. But as the store got less busy, I had the opportunity to try different positions (fries, grill, dishwashing, drive thru cash collecting, and garbages). It became less annoying and it got easier to bear. The store manager is VERY nice, but watch out for the supervisors. They can be a pain in the rear end, especially is you mess up and you don't realize it. Co-workers are amazing. You get along with almost everyone. Some of the folks I didn't get along with well was one was a complete jerk and another one was a 50 year old lady who can't even do her own job properly and constantly teaching me how to do things. Customers can be very nice sometimes. It's not like Mcdonalds where you see rude customers. The hardest part of any position is when it gets busy. The manager is on your back constantly telling you to work fast, pointing out mistakes. Also, I feel sorry for the sandwhich makers. They have to memorize the menu and the order of the sandwhiches and salads (mental stress). Thank god I didn't have to do that. Apart from the sandwhich maker, the grill man faces a lot of stress. You are basically the operating system of the restaurant. You are in charge - plus...
Meeting customers, nice co-workers, some supervisors and managers are nice.
Not much hours during dead periods, very hard at the beginning, constant moving, always have to do something to keep busy.
A typical day at Wendy's is working with a team at a fast pace. I learned how to manage the employee's, and make sure customers are always satisfied with our service. My co-workers always have a fun time on my shift, at the same time are dedicated to their given tasks. The hardest part of the job is the peek time of the day, which is lunch time. The most enjoyable part of the job is communicating with different type of people each day.
This is your typical fast food job, where one can do anything from cashier, to mop the floors. This job is ideal for students such as myself. The staff and management worked very well with each other as times got super busy. The most fun part of the job was working with the workers, from the management to the staff everyone was like a family and helped each other out in times of need. If one station was slowing down everyone would do more then just their part to get things back on track. The hardest part of the job is cleaning all the grease at the end of the day.
easy, fun filled job
cleaning up at the end of the day
