Once the best place to be but not anymore
Apprentice Truck and Transport Technician (Ancien employé) –  Edmonton, AB3 octobre 2018
I always dreamed of working here, I was finally able to and I apprenticed here. Once it was known for the best training around, now its a terrible place for training. Its owned publicly and all that matters is share holders. It was a union shop when I was there but it didn't protect you from the wrath of horrendous management.
Points positifs
large engine opportunities
Points négatifs
horrific management, not utilizing highly skilled journeyman to properly train

Old boy's club is a live and well at this company senior managers make lots of poor decisions based on how it effects there bonuses not on what best for the business. The company is suffering from a severe case of brain drain, all the good knowledgable pepole haved moved on to work for competitors.Good place to work if you like an ever increasing work load.
Points positifs
Great wages and benifits. Great people at the branch level
Points négatifs
Sales people that are promoted to Manager positions that have no business sense or people skills

Great People, Horrible Revolving Management
Parts & Warehouse Supervisor (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON11 septembre 2018
I worked for Wajax Power Systems for near to five years.
Great people there for the most part, but no chance of getting
promoted from within. Wajax prefers to bring in idiot toe heads from other industries rather than acknowledge their own employees who are willing, capable and experienced.
If you don't mind continually living with the status quo, Wajax is great. Should you want a salary increase or promotion some day, lets just say that with Wajax, All bets are off.
Points positifs
Great team on the floor

Productive but stressful workplace.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Ancien employé) –  Saskatoon, SK30 août 2018
Management can become irritable and it makes the workplace not an enjoyable place to work. It is not a good place for new mechanics to learn or take an apprenticeship.

Too much pressure
Accounts payable clerk (Employé actuel) –  Montréal, QC13 juillet 2018
The workload is too much at Wajak. There is a problem in the management. Instead of motivating the staff to work harder, the management pressurize the employees by giving impossible deadlines to reach.

Terrible Atmosphere, Management is Terrible
Parts Technician (Employé actuel) –  Edmonton, AB12 juillet 2018
Everyone is unhappy and hates coming to work. Branch Manager is a micro manager and has no people skills. Moral is so low and company/management make it worse. Management will just run you around and never provide a clear message. Smoke and Mirrors. Potential to be a great company but would have to get rid of all upper management.

Work life balance with no room for advancement
Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentice (Ancien employé) –  Grande Prairie, AB9 juillet 2018
Will be told what you want to hear to get you through the door with no follow through. Has no organizational skills. Lower management is new to positions and it shows. Flexible schedule. The negative reputation is warranted.

several mangement changes getting worse with every new face
mechanic (Employé actuel) –  Hamilton, ON15 juin 2018
Decent hours with a good core base of employees. New hires or transfers from Wajax Equipment are treated like gold while the rest are neglected. Absurd safety policies put together by people with no obvious knowledge or technical capabilities of job requirements. The employees who have common sense are good to deal with but are in short supply. Focus is needed from upper magement in, are we servicing heavy equipment, repairing Detroit/Mercedes Engines or selling belts & hoses? The most enjoyable part is leaving at the end of the work day.
Points positifs
dayshift only, good benefits
Points négatifs
lack of direction from manangement & false promises

Alot of Changes
Human Resources Generalist (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON5 juin 2018
Employees have no confidence in Management Team, poor and poorly timed communication often leaves employees confused

With a very high turn over in key areas and departments, and Management not dealing with employee concerns, people are becoming frustrated

Sinking ship or barely afloat?
Sales Representative (Employé actuel) –  Toronto, ON2 mai 2018
This company needs a shakeup. I have worked here for several years and have seen the ineptitude by management take a stronghold onto the culture of this massive organization. Most of the employees are good people and a pleasure to work with. Quite a few good staff have left, leaving holes in the ability to do business effectively. Without change, this ship is doomed.
