I could have more hours and the benefits they offer could be better. Still learning. Management is decent. There is a very diversified culture. The commute I have to do is getting difficult. The best part is the people.
for 6 years I had been hired by Volt four separate times for relatively the same job/company. Three of the times laid off with many other people due to the lack of production. Overall the company would usually keep me in one position while moving some people up and mobilize many different parts of the company. Management's attendance point system is archaic and shows heavy favortism. You cannot preach that there are many advancement opportunities when only select cliches of people move forward. They are not flexible nor accomodating with schedules especially when life throws you a curveball. At the end of it all the positive is weekly checks and quick hire/re-hire. But I will not return for a 5 go round/rodeo.
weekly checks, quick hire
Management, job/life balance, pay, lack of advancement, lack of stability
Getting into these types of jobs are super easy to get into since there really is no interview process other than when can you start. There is a screw driver assessment which is pretty easy to pass. My first impression about this place was good seeing how all the workers greeted each other. When I actually started the job, however, it was very unprofessional. I worked during the swing shift (night shift). The biggest issue I had was that there were many people, even the line leader, speaking their native language and considering how bad my trainer was, you can imagine all of gossip they must be talking. That leads to my next issue, the training. You are placed into a random station with no type of job overview. The line leader gives you to one of their veterans to shadow. I sat behind my trainer and had a terrible view. I basically watched her for about 7 hours and for 1 hour, she had me reverse shadow. She was quite rude and expected me to get everything correct on my first try. My next issue I had was the line leader. He practically did nothing but walk around and talked. This is why its hard to promote for these type of jobs since these line leaders/supervisors practically do nothing and get paid for it. On my last day, there was a group of people who came to spray the work station because someone probably caught COVID but they don't notify their workers. Overall, if you are the type of person who treats work as work and nothing else, this place is the place for you.
Super easy repetitive job, easy hiring
Unprofessional work environment, does not follow COVID safety code
Its all about what you can do for them. They pay minimum wage or barely over. I had to get HR at headquarters involved several times because local office management didn't do anything about my situations. The HR people were nice though.
Working have old is like working at a sweatshop you’re underpaid and overworked if you have an emergency if you need to leave the same day you lose points and by losing points you put yourself closer to me and terminated things happen in peoples lives that should not happen you should be able to leave it in emergency and they can provide documentation to prove that they had a family emergency also Volt does not support its employees especially if you work at Apple Apple will close down the warehouse for a party for just apple employees and Volt employees will lose hours just because apple wants to have a party I did not think that that is OK or professional

The process is simple, so you can start working when all the paper work is done. They are a flexible hiring service. Hiring and finding employment for you is what they do.
You can rehire quickly.
One assignment at a time.

Good for those who need a job immediately, it is super easy to get hired, takes a little as a week and the job is SUPER easy. With training it will take your about 3 days to learn everything
Actual 15 minute breaks, free coffee
No room for advancing
I had a great experience at volt. Most leads and debugs where nice, if I would go back and do night shift I would. I had a hard time with day shif. Operator (Former Employee) - Sacramento, CA - February 8, 2020 Don’t us up all your point. If you have kids try swing shift. Monday threw Friday is better. Always check your points and clock in and out on time. Enjoy.
If you are wanting to get out of your current job occupation and want something new to learn, this is the way to go. I spent over 10 years in one job occupation and was ready for learning something so I went to them for it. They got me connected to a work assignment where I am meeting a diversity of people and also learning new marketable work skills. Plus weekends off, some will see that a plus.
Working with Volt was somewhat disappointing at the end. They would not extend my contract to March because I had to many points against me. This is something I didn't plan on happening. I got sick with the flu and didn't have anymore sick hours. This is a horrible way to treat people who work for you. It is hard enough working, you shouldn't have to worry about how many points yhere
Most shift start at 8 at night to 4 in the morning, the pay was low. And a lot of turnover on employees. Most of the supervisors were either given letters or terminated within the first four or five months.
Volt employees are very rude. They will screen your calls so they dont have answer and talk to you. As soon as you change your number they will answer. Never work for this place .
Its a job
it was just a typical day it was fun working there because you get to work with different people and cultures of people. but other than that I had fun working there and meeting new people. along the way.
bring your own lunch
healthcare and breaks
The atmosphere was very relaxed the main focus was safety I was very happy and would still be working if not for the fact that it is a contract 1 year job and after 1year you take 3 months off. When you come back you start over.
Good work enviroment
Contract 1 year
