A lot of extra work expected to be done but while you’re off the clock but don’t let them tell you otherwise! GPS tracked everything even yourself! Decent entry level pay very minimum raises! Good luck on advancement even told that upon hiring! And be prepared to deal with a lot of very angry customers on a daily basis! Culture in the company is more like a cult they want you to eat sleep and breath growing the company! And you are graded at every call you go to get less than 8 out of 10 by a customer and your managers will be asking you about it!

one of the best places to work

work was challenging but rewarding. Vivint gives lots of opportunity to grow with in the company. I learned more sales skills working for Vivint than anywhere else. The best part of the job is creating new relationships and making sales. helping families feel protected and safe in their homes is rewarding.

It was long hours that was asked. Met with many different types of customers that sign up for a system. Challenging to figure out the best way to cover a home with an alarm system.

Super fun but really tough job

Door-to-door job, was tough at first but if you stick with it, you can become quite successful. Management was excellent, trained really well, super fun culture with lots of team-building games and camaraderie. Great swag, and plenty of it. But the work was some of the hardest work I've ever done. Plan on never seeing your family for the summer months.

Great summer job plus pay but travel a lot

Signed up as a first-year technician, liked the gig but training is a little lacking mostly depends on your tech lead. Also, some team members are great whereas some are just toxic depends on the managers as they usually maintain that kinda culture. The pay is great for the summer and you can go back to school.

typical day consisted of visiting either new or existing customers, adn dealing with their home alarm and automation needs.

Learned a lot about dealing with different people.

Hardest part of Job, was going into a home, and not being able to find a solution to customers problem.

Most enjoyable part of the job was leaving a customers home, knowing you did the job right, and they got what they asked for.

Vivint has been a great workplace for many reasons. Great people to work with and for. Although they grow their technology quickly and add new equipment to their yearly line up without fully debugging which can create havoc in the field and for their customers.
In Canada there are no growth opportunities even for the highest performers.

Great company to work for!

I enjoyed the everyday challenge and meeting the new customers, installing their security systems and building a relationship with them.

Just wish that there was more work available, thats the only reason I left the company.

I liked clocking in and out in my own driveway and spending time on the road. The schedule can get very bloated if the first assignment or two of the day goes long. And at times, management pushes for more efficiency than time can afford. A lot of time can be spent on the phone with tech support. While your physical work could be completed in a reasonable time, the back-end or behind-the-scenes crew can really hold up your day. Lastly for the cons, there is no definite quit time. You stay until your final task is complete.

Aside from that, the road travel and personal interaction with customers was very rewarding.

For the first 90 days this company requires an employee to use a personal vehicle for work purposes...which is not only a jump in insurance but wear and tear on a persons vehicle and is NOT compensated for in a proper manner.
Its like paying for employment!

The hardest job I’ve ever done but by far the most rewarding. Super good support system where everyone wants you to do well. You can work just a 4 month summer and do well enough to not have to work the rest of the year. I had 0 sales experience before this job and never thought I’d be good at sales but the training you get from the managers is like no other. Being away from family/friends for a summer is the best thing that ever happened to me and helped me have a super successful summer my first year. My parents and friends were against the idea of me leaving and going to a different city and knocking doors for a summer but I wanted to prove all my friends wrong and that’s also what ultimately helped do well that summer. Any advice to rookies I can give is put in all the hours and stay positive through all the ups and downs.

Vivint has a work hard play hard mentality it is the job pushes you past your comfort zone. you work long hours doing door to doors sales. but the suppose you get to succeed and make a profitable career is more than enough. so long as the salesmen are selling you are busy. Long days starting around nine in the morning up untell ten at night but if the customer still wants you there sometimes you can end up saying untell 4 in the morning
