This was honestly the hardest thing I've ever done. I noticed that the amount of growth that I experienced was worth every ounce of stress that I felt. I had an easier time when I studied the products, and when I followed the procedures that others found to be successful.

I enjoyed working with my coworkers and my manager was great. I found that the days were very long and the job is not stable enough to give you a set salary every year. I learned a lot of skills I wouldn't have learned and it is a fast way to make money.

From my first summer when being only 20 years old, with no experience, I left the summer not only making 40,000$ in 4 months, but with a skillset that I will never lose; sales skills.

It was an extremely hard job, but one that tests your limits and pushes you to do exceptionally well. The training and coaching was unbelievably inspirational, and pushes you to improve your personal development side, not just finance.


5 years later, I'm co-managing a team, working 5 months a year full time, 2 months part time and taking 4-5 months off travelling the world, both on my own and as well with the company from doing charity trips, to having vacations with my family.


Incredible company, incredible experience, everyone should try it at least for one summer

The people at the head office call center seem to make mistakes in order creation consistently, which impacts field metrics.

Helps people feel safe. Felt I really made a difference. To bad it slowed down. Would have stayed a lot longer if it wouldn't have slowed down. Looking for similar job if possible

We would have daily team meetings. Each meeting consisted of updating everyone on progress each individual has made and as a team. We proceeded to have a loud chant to excite everyone for the day. We worked for long hours in the sun, however, they were rewarding hours. Everyone wants to see you succeed and will push you to your limits in order for you to achieve that success. The hardest part about the job was learning how to sell. Door to door salesman has a bad reputation in society, so breaking down that stigma, as well as selling someone your business is a difficult task to do, especially if it's on their front porch.

A lot of extra work expected to be done but while you’re off the clock but don’t let them tell you otherwise! GPS tracked everything even yourself! Decent entry level pay very minimum raises! Good luck on advancement even told that upon hiring! And be prepared to deal with a lot of very angry customers on a daily basis! Culture in the company is more like a cult they want you to eat sleep and breath growing the company! And you are graded at every call you go to get less than 8 out of 10 by a customer and your managers will be asking you about it!

work was challenging but rewarding. Vivint gives lots of opportunity to grow with in the company. I learned more sales skills working for Vivint than anywhere else. The best part of the job is creating new relationships and making sales. helping families feel protected and safe in their homes is rewarding.

I'm torn with this review. On the one hand all the other technicians I worked with at Vivint were awesome, and the paid for accommodation was in shiny new apartments.

But the work life balance is horrendous. I know it's what you sign up for and the money is great, but you are basically on call from 11:00am all the way to 11pm, Monday to Saturday. This means you are constantly under stress of getting that next job, and it makes it impossible to plan anything for the whole summer. You'll think that you're clear for a few hours so you go to the gym, nope a job. So you decide you'll just wait around for that next job, but it never comes and you just waste your time.


But the real problem was the sales reps. Now there were some decent reps who I really respected. But then there were these sales reps that define sleeze. they would sell to people who had no business getting the system, would lie about what they included in the package and then leave the burden of explaining the price increase on the tech, which often led to some angry customers.


Also get ready to put A LOT of kilometers on your own vehicle as you'll be driving all day doing service calls.


Anyways, I've been in every type of home and met every type of person so in the end I'd say the experience was worth it.


One last thing, If you quit even a day early your bonus is void. Also your bonus is based off customer reviews, which wasn't so bad for me, but some guys would get a 1 because of something the rep did and it would destroy their bonus.

I felt pressured to get the job done fast and not care about the quality. Salespeople are dishonest and just make the customers feel good. Has the potential to make a lot of money, but even my employer kept making promises of money I would receive as bonuses that were always lower than promised.

It was long hours that was asked. Met with many different types of customers that sign up for a system. Challenging to figure out the best way to cover a home with an alarm system.

Door-to-door job, was tough at first but if you stick with it, you can become quite successful. Management was excellent, trained really well, super fun culture with lots of team-building games and camaraderie. Great swag, and plenty of it. But the work was some of the hardest work I've ever done. Plan on never seeing your family for the summer months.

Signed up as a first-year technician, liked the gig but training is a little lacking mostly depends on your tech lead. Also, some team members are great whereas some are just toxic depends on the managers as they usually maintain that kinda culture. The pay is great for the summer and you can go back to school.

i don't know if it was the management i was under or just the company in whole. but from day one with these guys it was nothing but promises of big money. and asking me to go somewhere temporary for training. then every time i turned around i was wrong about what the plan was. nothing seemed to be planned. or the plan i was being told was wrong. and the 90% of there training is about how if you stick it out you will be happy. and quitting is bad. i have never thought about quitting a job as much as i did here. but everyday you are told how quitting would be the worst idea ever. also they blackmail you into "sticking out the summer" by holding a "back end" cheque over your head saying if you walk away now you are throwing a bunch of money away. avoid this place.

it was okay to work there although our management team was first year and the team as a whole did not perform as well as we should have. that being said it was a great opportunity to find my niche.
