Heading in the right direction

Vitalaire the company is great. There are a lot of action plans put in place to increase employee engagement and frequent town hall meetings to keep employees up-to-date. The president is friendly. However, the department I worked in was not so great. The hardest part of the job is the amount of work. A lot of the staff members are not trained properly. Office politics is rampant and extremely distracting. Hard work does not equate advancements. It is extremely difficult to move ahead in this company. Overall, I would recommend this company as a whole but not the department I worked in.

I wish I never had to leave!

Reasonable pay. Wonderful supportive management. Clear escalation path. Friendly comfortable environment. Lots of support available wherever it's needed. I only left because I had to move away - otherwise I'd have stayed.

Unethical Management team

Unfortunately not a good review for the Mississauga Ontario head office team. Very Poor management with very little moral values. Very little support from the HR team to provide support for their employees. HR is supportive for the management team and this does not provide proper engagement for employees that need their support

Worst company I have worked for

Initially, it seemed like a good company to be at. But over time, you realize that it's far from that. Those who were there on a regular basis, and making sure that the work was done, got stabbed in the back. Those that bullied, frequently absent, and hardly did any work, got a pat on the back from Management.

I worked on a contract at TJX Canada

This is the best place ever I worked in my life. Unfortunately my contract ended and I had to look for a new opportunity. I learned administrative jobs, entering data in the data and coordinate with the security department. The management was always great as well as the co-workers. There was nothing hard for the job I was doing. Again, we functioned as a team to meet the deadline.

I am looking to change

VitalAire is a fast pace environments. I used various software to bill clients and I worked with Account receivable department. I am looking to change as the management is not the best. The co-workers are great and most of us are living the company due to bad management. There is nothing hard with the job as we work as a team. The most enjoyable part of the job is that we function as a team to meet the deadline.

Poor corporate management and culture

My experience as a middle manager was terrible. They are consistently managing hires and overtasking individuals. Burnout is at a high rate in this organization. Corporate leadership is completely detached from the provinces, with the exception of Ontario where the corporate office is located. Current corporate leadership does not like to be challenged, corrected or questioned. This organization has a bias to hiring men and releasing women in management roles.

Served in 4 different roles-accounts payables, funding, pre-billing, billing administrator and relief reception

Each position developed different skills set. Interaction with co-workers provided social acceptance and knowledge sharing. Management focused more on the success of the business and less on employees welfare. Contact with co-workers in other branch location gave much satisfaction. Multi tasking an good organisation gave reward especially at month ends.

Poor Management

The whole work environment is under lots of stress.... employees are very unhappy. Two employees are on stress leave. HR is not approachable. lots of favoritism. Managers does not know their jobs. unrealistic goals in billing dept.

Over worked and stressed out all the time. Poor training

A typical day at work is answering problem calls and complaints from customers. Also, fixing mistakes done by other people in the department who were not properly trained or lazy. What I have learned is that it does not matter how well you do your job, this company has no recognition for their good employees and they spend more time "babying" the ones that do poor work. Management is unfair and they have a tendency to pile on the work on employees who seem to do well because they don't trust the ones that do less well to get the job done efficiently. This could be corrected by proper training but the employees are trained by other employees and not by the supervisor or manager. In fact, supervisor is also new and comes from the outside not knowing anything about the company. Poor judgement from the company. I have met some great co-workers, but it is best too keep to yourself as a lot of them will be nice to your face and then throw you under the bus to get ahead. The hardest part of the job is feeling like you are doing everything and nobody else is pulling their weight. And when you are feeling overworked and look for help, you get no support from your superiors or colleagues.

Resist work place /

Worked with two faced co-workers who always challenge you if they see you smarter and hard working minorety individual!! Managments don't care about employers performance . But if you Are the worst performer and not a visible minorety you are the best !! The More you are dumb the more you great because the managment are carless ..

I enjoyed working with the clients when I got the opportunity

When I started my job with Vitalaire, I was told this was an inside customer service position. It was a maternity leave but could lead to more. I unfortunately was placed behind a wall and didn't get to experience the customer service position I was hoping to have. I mostly moved paperwork around and tried to organize the office. I really enjoyed the time I had to spend with the clients and wished there had been more of that. During my employ, there was a major rearranging of management which lead to a lot of dissension with the permanent staff. At the end of my time there, I was offered a position but declined due to the unhappy atmosphere.

hard work does not mean advancement

this could be a good company if management cared about the company but there is so much office politics that management forgets their role....it seems that most mangers want yes men and are only concerned with collecting their pay and don't care to listen to employees who actually do the job and can offer better solutions to make the company more productive "don't rock the boat" it may show that your boss doesn't really know what they are doing

Management needs extensive overhaul-makes uninformed decisions

Upper management does not understand branch operations and would rather place blame than actually determine the cause of branch issues. Since 2011 there have been more than 10 staff members that have quit or been terminated and rarely do they replace those staff members. They expect the remaining staff to pick up the slack and when it can't be done, they place blame on the unappreciated administrative staff rather than determine the actual reasons for the issues. The regional director is unwilling to listen to branch issues and the branch managers will not support their staff and will throw them under the bus because they believe their job will be in jeopardy if they support their staff. This has caused several administrative assistants to lose their jobs, even when they were doing a good job, because the regional director mistakenly placed blame on them, rather than listen to the actual reasons for the problems.

good company HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT

Was hired to work for VitalAire as a CPAP Specialist. I had a review where I was told everything was going great I was a great employee and that there was no concerns. Two weeks later I was fired and the manager, if you want to call her that, could not give me a reason. She was a horrible manager with no management skills what so ever the business could run perfectly fine without her. Completely blindsided and was not given any direction. The training was not valuable to start the job and if you asked questions you were not given the correct answer. Will not recommend working for this company to anybody. I know of 3 different employees who I worked with who re actively looking for other jobs

Good exposure; bad management

I liked my role, the company is helping patients so there is a job satisfaction in working there. The management was a slave driver and didn't care about their employees. Good pay though.
