Great Co-Workers, Ok Management and Corporate Staff

I enjoyed my time at VitalAire for the most part. My local co-workers were great and we worked as a team well. Some other locations had more turnover and a less cohesive team (guess it depends on the employees hired). There are a lot of rules/regulations and decisions that come from Head Office that don't make sense or are somewhat redundant but need to be followed regardless - that is annoying.

Not worth the stress!

I couldn't give a lower score. This company does business like its 30yrs ago. 20 steps to do what should be done in 1 or 2. Staff is cold and unfriendly, management is no existent. I spent 6 week in the most stressful environment. It was a relief when I left!

Management are not there for best interest of employee

Management are never there to help succeed. They collect a cheque and make your life as stressful as possible. This is a good job if you have nothing else going.

Terrible Work Environment!

I notice that MANY people have the same complaint with this company; Management plays favourites. The second you voice your opinion or concerns or even struggles .. your out the door with no explanation. I spent 3 months at this company and never in my life have I been more stressed out while being trained. The person training me was constantly breathing down my neck and was told to NEVER hesitate to ask questions. Yet when I did ask questions my trainer was very noticeably annoyed and irritated and then would act all friendly to me when in front of the manager. Management clearly had their favourites and when I was asked to be brutally honest... It was only to give them more fuel to criticize me. Also, they will constantly tell you when your first learning the ropes, " don't worry , everything is fixable." But if you do make a mistake, you get repremanded. Don't work here. It's a waste of time, energy and not worth the stress. Way too many office politics.

Don't do it!

One of the most toxic poisonous work environments I ever worked in. Management had their favorites and liked to micro manage the rest while letting their favorites do what they want. Management had a vague idea at best what employees did day in and day out as a job. Short staffed and people doing the work of 2 people on a daily basis. Zero opportunity for career advancement and zero interest in coaching and one on one meetings. Management consisted of people with barely any social skills or experience in the field. Constant absenteeism but nothing done about it. Close minded when employees offered solutions for the better of the team/company. This company lacks any common sense or direction. Lack of respect for its clients and employees! Would NOT work here again and would NOT recommend anyone to apply here. There are thousands of other places worth your time/effort.

Management heavy

This company is very management heavy and doesn't know the jobs or responsibilities of the front end staff who are the ones implementing policy and dealing with the public.

Great place to work. Great coworkers.Helping out clients / placing order and trouble shooting. Great management. A lot of opportunities for additional training.

Worst company I have worked for

Initially, it seemed like a good company to be at. But over time, you realize that it's far from that. Those who were there on a regular basis, and making sure that the work was done, got stabbed in the back. Those that bullied, frequently absent, and hardly did any work, got a pat on the back from Management.

Over worked and stressed out all the time. Poor training

A typical day at work is answering problem calls and complaints from customers. Also, fixing mistakes done by other people in the department who were not properly trained or lazy. What I have learned is that it does not matter how well you do your job, this company has no recognition for their good employees and they spend more time "babying" the ones that do poor work. Management is unfair and they have a tendency to pile on the work on employees who seem to do well because they don't trust the ones that do less well to get the job done efficiently. This could be corrected by proper training but the employees are trained by other employees and not by the supervisor or manager. In fact, supervisor is also new and comes from the outside not knowing anything about the company. Poor judgement from the company. I have met some great co-workers, but it is best too keep to yourself as a lot of them will be nice to your face and then throw you under the bus to get ahead. The hardest part of the job is feeling like you are doing everything and nobody else is pulling their weight. And when you are feeling overworked and look for help, you get no support from your superiors or colleagues.

I enjoyed working with the clients when I got the opportunity

When I started my job with Vitalaire, I was told this was an inside customer service position. It was a maternity leave but could lead to more. I unfortunately was placed behind a wall and didn't get to experience the customer service position I was hoping to have. I mostly moved paperwork around and tried to organize the office. I really enjoyed the time I had to spend with the clients and wished there had been more of that. During my employ, there was a major rearranging of management which lead to a lot of dissension with the permanent staff. At the end of my time there, I was offered a position but declined due to the unhappy atmosphere.

Management needs extensive overhaul-makes uninformed decisions

Upper management does not understand branch operations and would rather place blame than actually determine the cause of branch issues. Since 2011 there have been more than 10 staff members that have quit or been terminated and rarely do they replace those staff members. They expect the remaining staff to pick up the slack and when it can't be done, they place blame on the unappreciated administrative staff rather than determine the actual reasons for the issues. The regional director is unwilling to listen to branch issues and the branch managers will not support their staff and will throw them under the bus because they believe their job will be in jeopardy if they support their staff. This has caused several administrative assistants to lose their jobs, even when they were doing a good job, because the regional director mistakenly placed blame on them, rather than listen to the actual reasons for the problems.
