The hiring process and amount of interviews and tests made me feel this job is a lot more challenging and rewarding than what it really is. It really depends what area you end up in (random selection process), but the area where I worked requires next to no skills or knowledge, just basic labor. Add to that a weird mix of administrative tasks and pointless meetings and it adds up to a boring, depressing work day. There is pretty much no accountability for who's doing what so there are lots of workers walking around all day. The job is pretty decent (Pay, benefits, days off) for someone not looking for a rewarding work experience.
If you work around tankhouse area expect being exposed to lots of gases, vapours and chemical solutions, unhealthy no matter what kinda respirator you wear.
Long boring hours, very basic tasks, highly harmful chemicals
