Pros:- Good discount- Fun environment- Not as taxing as some retail jobsCons:- Not paid enough- If your upper management is bad, you will have a bad time- Not a lot of advancement because there aren't many UO locations

not good

no position to work your way up-head office has favourites and always will choose external hiring.does big lay-offs within the company frequently.good thing i can think of is the people you meet as your coworkers. other than that, be prepared to work every weekend and be closing until 10pm a lot of days.

Cool Environment / Bad Management

UO is such a cool/creative place to work. All of your coworkers have interesting side gigs of being musicians, artists, photographers, designers, etc. The products are awesome, and you get 70% discount off of one outfit per month, and 50% off the rest of the time. Helping customers can be pretty fun, sometimes challenging. The management is pretty hit or miss, if you have a bad store manager it's a nightmare to work there, but if you have a good one it's heaven. There's no real accountability for bad managers and the anonymous HR helpline leads to an answering machine that I'm not sure ever gets listened to. Left because management were toxic.

Points positifs

Cool vibe, good discount, awesome co-workers

Points négatifs

Bad management, Problematic head office

Just Another Retail Job

It was ok. Just another job that pays the bills. They expect alot with not alot of wage to back it up. Job security is not the best. The entire Merchandising team from head office all the way down to store level was let go this year.

Fun environment, great product

I was a department manager for Urban Outfitters for 3 years and this was my second role as management in retail. I learned a lot about merchandising and how to motivate and encourage staff for excellence. The hours were very long and demanding but this helped me in my future roles in management.

Points positifs

Great product, fun

Points négatifs

Very long hoyrs

Urban Outfitters Dix30

- working in a slow pace store allows more time to get projects done. however, I would much rather work somewhere fast pace - managers are often on the same page, but occasionally there is conflict brought upon us by the store manager - hardest part of the job is assuring things get done on their deadline - most enjoyable part is working with clothes and being able to style and merchandise how we want

Points négatifs

un paid overtime
