under staffed making high work load, high turn over with reception, annoying/ weird management tactics, strange policies/rules for employees and patients, over booked doctors, little place advancement, most are on a contract as opposed to permanent meaning little to no benefits. great place to learn about medical field, great colleagues for the most part, helping the immediate community, scrubs, great for the type that likes to keep busy.

A typical day at UOHS is usually a very busy day, very pleasant if one likes to keep busy. Learn to task between clients, duties and phone lines. One learns time management skills very quickly, if not obtained prior to obtaining this job. Staff in all areas is very pleasant and everyone is treated as equal. Management is efficient and will accommodate issues one may have. Excessive workload at times, however there is always encouragement provided. The most enjoyable part of the job are the daily interactions with other members of the staff.

The job was excellent for newcomers to Canada, there were lots of learning opportunities. There were teaching and learning training sessions. Professors are were willing to provide mentorship, workspace and tools were accessible. A free intercampus ride was available. Postdoc enjoyed extended health insurance benefits covering eye care, dental and drugs.
Salary was good, but not commensurate with qualification
