Union Tractor is a great place to learn about heavy equipment parts. The brass of the parts department is very knowledgeable and can tell you most anything.
Old management/parts lead and warehouse guy
Why ruin the surprise for you
This place could be great if the culture would change , managemenybis strictly focused on their bonuses and not delivery quality to customers poor quality out put because management would rush you at the end ofbthe month to get machines to a point where they can start billing and closing work orders regardless when the job was started or how big of a job MATTERWETHER OR NOT
lots to learn from the olders guys qho have been there before the shiftbin priorities
management is incompetent and arogant. A culture of substandard work and high yurn over rates
You can be fired anytime with out a reason . This has made the company loose qualified mechanical technicians and engineers , who can contribute to the company .

Lots of helpful guys with experience. A complete shop - equipment repairs, components overhaul and sufficient tooling to carry out tasks. You work by yourself most of the time but will get help if needed. Lots of ot when busy
A growing company with vision. Good ideas for increasing growth. Can be a good place to work depending on position. Can be a difficult place to work depending on position. Wages are fair and competitive. Company has a hard time hiring and hanging on to mechanics. Otherwise a good place to work.
Sell to rip off on labour and more parts than needed.parts people are to sell sell sell and mechanics are required to replace more parts than required
Done at 4
Putting up with a skinny parts person with a mouth
good place for apprentices , set union pay rates and schedule , bitter front office staff and questionable competence from CEO, mangers asking to load huge track chains on small trailers that cant handle it ,
9 month long winters
bitter office staff
Union Tractor has good benefits and a competitive wage. Sometimes they have you working 7 days a week, others sweeping the floor. I like the holidays that they give including extra time at Christmas and New Years. Good Group in Red Deer, old shop but they are building a new one.
Exciting, fast paced, different every day
Union tries to do more with less, I wait somtimes for special tools
The company perches safety as soon as you start but then you go down to the floor there is no tools to do the job properly your always looking for slings and other stuff you need to do your job and if you don't have lifting eyes and shackles in your tool box then you won't find any around the shop. There always in a hurry to get the job done
It a job
Management, Long hours, no tools, tight dead lines
The chance of advancement with in the company was opened to current employees first. I started as a warehouse picker then advanced through the years until I became a parts man.The most enjoyable part of the job was learning something new everyday.
great people to work with
Start the day with a safety meeting. Foreman tells you what job you are on and what needs to be done. the co-workers are very helpful if you have any questions or need a hand with something.
always something to do
no sick days, no paid lunches
Co-workers were great to work with, a good group of people. However, the company has changed a lot in the last few years, and the culture has changed, for the worse.
No training available to workers, No advancement opportunities, sour company culture and bad benefit package
tool box meeting, work all day r/i parts, on occasion i would trouble shoot problems. make part lists for quoting. Write up service reports daily on the work i have done during the day
great place to learn
not enough work
