Great side job!

Avis en vedette

The pay could be better, since most of the customers do not always tip, so the base pay should be increased a bit higher, not everyone is interested, or will use the Uber incentives

Points positifs

I am my own boss

Points négatifs

Pay is not the greatest

Good for fast money, bad for long term

dont work it as your only career, do other things in your life. Good for earning fast money , other than that it is not worth it. You have to make sure that you are working the right time, the say you can work whenever you want is not completely true.

Great job to have for some extra money

The customers are fantastic! I really enjoy being able to come and go as I please. It is something to do when I'm bored or want a little extra spending money.

Managment

Worked for Uber for approximately 3 years. I had a 4.87 rating. I had an incident with a cab driver and my account was blocked without an explanation. Totally unfair

modern day slavery

To many drivers no perks for drivers less money no life drivers are not protected or respected. The hub is just about useful as the the phone number. Never do uber

Good Place:

Great job place and timing is little longer. you can learn lot of things when busy and its great to see the world wide people and interaction with them about the world and the Canada who is also new to Canada. Hardest part is the timing is long hours only.

Points positifs

Great Work Place

Points négatifs

Long hours timing

Its just a phony promise

The management is the worse you can imagine.its only good if you have time to waste and not to mention the wear and mileage on your car. never depend on the management support. The email and online and phone support is below one star. The staff at the office are on power trips and generally talk down to you when it comes to a serious issue. The phone support is truly a joke.Good luck The pay is like you change a dollar for three quarters. Riders can easily rate you low and take advantage of some stupid rules like "he took the wrong route" and instantly uber deducts money from your account without asking a question, it takes two days of back and forth emails to maybe get your money back. I would say the only good thing is that once in a while you meet you interesting riders, which has nothing to do with uber. The idea of uber is fantastic but unfortunately it is not managed properly and based on fair game.Drivers suffer since most are desperate for making some extra cash which at the end of the day the cash you earn is really the wear and tear on your car which is not evident while doing it. Its like at the end of the year you earn 5000 dollars but really half of that is the value of your car which one dose not realize or care its like you need the cash right then.Again the idea of uber is fantastic but it only earns money for the company and drivers are just lured into the system for the instant needed cash. Finally I can go on and on but it seems that Uber forgets that its the drivers who are behind the earnings and representing the company but are not fairly compensated -

Abusive Policies and low income

I just did a 30 minute trip across the city to deliver a meal. When I arrive to the restaurant it is the manager and not Uber through its app who let's me know that the meal was cancelled time ago. I call Uber support and they compensate me with 3 dls. after more than a 30 minutes drive to the restaurant. The manager was unable to offer me a better compensation. One driver less for this greedy company! Compensation sucks.

Points négatifs

Payment

Great Work Hours, NOT even paid minimum wage

For working about 4 hours I earned last about $87. Pretty good? Not really... now subtract the collected HST, TOLL fees (they dont even pay you for the $1 407 fee in Toronto everytime you get on the 407, this is with you having a transponder! That's on you, they only pay you the KM rate for 407 Toll), subtract the Fuel expenses which is rising. I now made $41.59 which is about $10.40/hr. Don't forget about the added wear and tear on your car! Minimum wage in Ontario is currently $14/hr. My earnings this morning was considerably a "good day". Not worth your time unless you absolutely need this much flexibility to work.

Points positifs

Flexibility of time

Points négatifs

Not even paid minimum wage

Just an advice "don't drive with Uber" they don't respect their employees

I worked most of the time at night in downtown Toronto and most of the riders were drunk and use to puke in the car and get the car very dirty, but still i was very understanding and patient and all the riders were extremely happy with my driving and i had a very good reviews score of 4.8. One day i was suddenly not able to drive and when i asked the head office about the reason they said 3 people out 996 customers gave bad reviews about me and they didn't even tell me what was the bad reviews about, plus they were very rude. I understand the competition is very high and they want to be the best, but they could've been more reasonable and show some respect to their employees.

Points positifs

Flexibility

Points négatifs

No security for job and earning

Well organized

Interesting to meet so many different people from so many walks of life. All good experiences with no difficult types to handle. Uber does a great job of setting up the customers so that they have a safe and enjoyable ride.

Don't count on it for full time money

Setting your own hours allows you to do this job on a part-time basis which allows for another job or family time. Most customers are a pleasure to work with and they come from a diverse background. Conversations can expand your understanding of the world outside your own. You need to be strong and diplomatic when dealing with difficult customers, which are in the minority.

Points positifs

Meeting lots of different people

Points négatifs

Lacking in 24 hour customer service support.

Be your own boss

Great part time opportunity for making extra cash. Not a very good full time job, as the money is not consistent to the number of hours you would have to work, as compared to a regular job.

Points positifs

Pick your own hours

Points négatifs

Late nights and very short trips

Cons are freedom, flexibility, no arrogant boss, some nice customers

Warlord style management, underpaying drivers while they use thier car to deliver to 80% ungrateful customers. Drivers are at the biggest loss in the equation. Customers blame the driver when 99% drivers go, pick up the food and drive right to your house lol even speed sometimes. Take into account the restaurant busy or failed gps, traffic... The real complaint should be against Uber Corporate and thier lack of support for customers and the drivers who get your food delivered. Drivers get blamed for it all because Uber doesn't explain anything right to the customer so it makes driver look shady when there is a real reason behind the issue of delivery. Hands down they are operating an unethical business for underpaying thier drivers (barely min wage before deductions like tax, gas and vehicle maintenance). Think about that before you complain to your driver for a second. There are so many non tippers that expect way too much, but these same ppl will tip in a restaurant just to have someone walk a plate to them... These ppl don't tip because there is no embarassment if no one is watching and there's no encouragement to tip.. . Meanwhile you're driving and wearing down your car to deliver thier food... Anyways boycott Uber and if you can't afford to tip, you can't afford delivery!

Points positifs

Flexibility, no boss on your shoulder, some nice clients

Points négatifs

Low pay without boost, hardly anyone tips(I'm 98% 1500+trips), ignorant management clearly focused on greed

Too many other drivers

Everywere i go I'm surrounded by loads of other drivers . Too much wear and tear on my vehicle, insurance, rudeness of the passengers. Yuck! Especially passengers under 30 or groups of people out drinking so disrespectful in their own little worlds. They never tip. It feels good to destroy their ratings they dont deserve to sit in my car for $3 just to go 2 blocks and judge me.

Points positifs

Flexible hours

Points négatifs

Too many drivers

The frustrating and depressing job I've ever had.

Good luck making money unless you want to work 75 hours a week with still no guarantee. They over hire and under pay. Was great for while, it really was but now, it's not worth the stress of inconstancy and time on the road in the angriest city in Canada.

Points positifs

Some freedom

Points négatifs

Everything else

A good company to work for when life balance is needed. I was not a full-time employee but enjoyed the flexibility to work around the family and other work schedules.

Not enough pay and very competative

In Toronto cost of living is high and car insurance is very expensive. Uber does not consider at all your costs for maintaining your car and seem to pay the least as possible. When i started Uber, it looked like a great option to make money but now it seems to not be worth it at all. After gas, insurance, maintance and the tax you pay at the end of the year. You realize it may have not been the best option. Uber does nothing to help with tax and you are left to figure it out yourself. Also a major negative with the job are the customers. I have worked in customer service positions all my life and have never faced the amount of stress and disrespect I have with Ubereats customers. Especially the people living in condos and apartments that do not do a thing to help you get into the apartment and deliver to their door as 98% of them request. On top of that the security at the lobby also makes it hard for you. Ubereats driver support aren't very helpful either. An example would be when I picked up food and the restaurant did not package a chicken noodle soup properly. They usually wrap the container in a plastic bag to seal it but instead just used napkins. Didn't look professional but since I am just a driver I am not allowed to demand better packaging. All the liquid spilt and the bag ripped and I was embarrassed of its condition. Instead of just taking this to the customer I called Uber to see what I should do. They said they would call the restaurant and see If they could make a replacement. As you may have guessed the restaurant said no. So I thought Uber would call the -

Horrible company taking advantage of people

I have been delivering food for ubereats for more than a year... it made me realise how people are.. selfish, feeling entitled to everything, lazy and cheap!!! The most i ever made in a 50 hour week is 50$ in tips. Most customers dont even bother giving a buzz number or even an appartment number, which makes you wait in the lobby like an idiot untill they decide to answer their phone. After 10 minutes of waiting they give you the appartment number. Big waste of time.. the most money you will ever going to get is 20$ an hour... minus your gaz 5 to 10$ an hour depending on your vehicle. Minus the wear and tear on your car and the repairs and insurance. At the end of the day you end up with 10$ an hour to be treated like excrements all day by stupid customers. If i would tell my friends to drive ubereats???? NOOO!!!!!! This company is horrible!!!!!

Points positifs

Work whenever you feel like it

Points négatifs

Under minimum wage (should be illegal)
