It's not always quick and easy to get hired. The job interview process can be lengthy. Being interviewed once and getting a job offer is typically a thing of the past. Today, many companies have an involved interview process starting with screening interviews, which often take place on the phone, followed by in-person interviews, second interviews, and even third interviews.

The HR is very unprofessional and has no knowledge of the work or the collective agreement.

Went for an interview for an engineering position... I had HR person call me to set up an "interview" so i went in expecting to be interviewed. Was given an application forum.... wrote that out.

Then went into a room with the HR person. They literally read out to me what i wrote on the application form i just signed and asked me if i could do those things (work rotation shifts, nights, travel, etc) . So yes i said yes i can do those things, then they talk about some benefits really fast and when you get paid (monthly), after that they said "ok i will send off the resume to the manager for you to have another interview".

So at this point, driving to this place was a waste of time as this all could have been done over the phone / online for a 2 minute face to face session. They just need to justify for this HR person having a job to do something I guess, so then you can go to the "next" interview of actually seeing a person.
