They want elite employees but offer mediocre wages.

True leadership is absent. The department structures change and change again almost at a whim. New departments are create, changed and deleted with astounding frequency.


The word 'planning' is used often but the effect on the department or employees is seldom if ever considered and departmental input into the plans is also seldom if ever sought.


There are also some major ethical and privacy issues with senior management.

Amazing management, awesome team, free lunches, work and life balance and of course the culture here is great. You have a lot of perks that is hard to find somewhere else.

Wasnt there too long, but the culture and work to life balance were good. The onsite training was straight forward, they slowly brought you into things. Allowing you to grow.

Management are missing and in some cases, not qualified to lead the people below them. No vision to work towards and unclear how to succeed as a team.

It's unfortunate that one person can single handedly destroy the culture of an entire company. Change for the sake of change rather than doing what's best for the company and its future. Instead, hide mistakes by covering them up instead of owning them and working through it.

After 3 years of dedicated service, I was let go with just a blanket statement about the company moving in a new direction, and no hint about what I did to deserve termination.

Biggest problem I saw was a lack of communication across the various levels and departments - many times, the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing.


When a class of new hires was brought on at a higher wage than the majority of the tenured agents were making, there was a lot of pressure to keep it quiet at first, and when it did come out, a generic "Sorry, we goofed" statement was issued but no changes were made to wages.


Lastly, beginning in January of 2019, the wages were changed from semi-monthly salary to bi-weekly hourly.

-mostly great people to work with.

-no dress code.

-good benefits.

-location. dufferin & king isn't exactly the safest area of town. i got mugged waiting for the streetcar after finishing a 3-1130 shift (then got in trouble for refusing to take the work laptop home with me every night after that)

-there is a lot of pettiness from other employees. if you say something they don't like, instead of talking about it to you like an adult, they run off and cry to their manager. i've seen more maturity in a pre-school setting.

-the managers have found a way to pit us against each other to make themselves look good.

-6 month probation period

-the management play favorites, and it's abundantly clear.

-lack of clarity for customers.

-lack of information to employees regarding customer promotions. you'll basically hear about it when a customer calls in to inquire.

-they stress that they want you to be yourself, but when you are yourself they come down on your for it.

-absolutely no consideration regarding schedules. they screw up, but you end up paying the price. they claim to offer work life balance, but at Tucows you better live to work as opposed to work to live.

-they monitor bathroom breaks.

-they'll change the way you're paid on a whim.

Tucows has a great sense of culture, diversity, and it is a great learning experience. Great benefits and wages, however the job security is not very secure.

i find it funny how this company in st.catharines is always hiring. When you apply, and KNOW you have experience, they dont call you back. Whats wrong with this picture?

No leader ship, very disorganized and they ask of you to do everything at all time from answering calls to answering emails non stop due to clients not knowing how to use the phone or technical issues.

This place was pretty good when I started there but then there was a change in management and things got busy. All the big promises and high ideals went right out the window. Only promises they keep are the ones that can be accomplished with a credit card number. They fire people randomly with no warnings or anything. Culture has turned toxic but Management pretends to see none of it and tries to spin everything instead of taking ownership. One of the most insulting and infuriating work experiences I have ever had.

Very good wage, but if your a customer service person your no one. They fire 30-40 people at once and often. Medical note was the only thing securing my employment. Hard to move up or get noticed.

I worked at Tucows as a QA Analyst / Scrum Master for 3 years (2006-2009).

I loved all of the people that worked there, and had respectful managers who cared about the well-being of their employees.


One of the best IT companies to work for in Toronto, hands down.

I worked in a high paced environment. I was provided with all the tools I needed to get the job done. The culture was one that was geared to team spirit and satisfying the customer needs.

Worked here for a 2 plus years and it was a very negative experience. Lots of head games played by management who were extremely petty people.

Company has no metrics for which they use to judge performance and raises and reviews are completely arbitrary based on favoritism.


Company culture and support are really where things are poor and they line up pretty much with any call centre job these days that are so common.


I'm so happy i don't work here any more, i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I sadly moved and had to leave. I learned so much while I was there. Made so many friends and the work environment was fun every single day. Employees were very important to the company and if you had an issue, it was resolved quickly.
