Overall it’s a good place to work. Managements needs to step up their games as it relates to discriminations of colours. Name callings should be stopped and respect amongst staffs should be encouraged

We also take instances of harassment seriously, regardless of how minor it may or may not seem at the time. Tridon has robust policies in place, directly addressing workplace harassment and discrimination, and we are committed to enforcing them.

I was hired by Tridon Communication in 2018 and wanted to stay there till my retirement, but unfortunately, like many of us, got lied off due COVID-19. It was such a pleasure to work for this company. Worked couple position and training for each one was accomplished with all details i needed to be sucesful. Safety on top. People are so friendly and so helpful including my boss and all management. Can’t wait for business to pick up again so i can go back to work for this great company and with all these amazing people.

Be careful working for this company. They will try everything not to pay you right just to save pennies and pretend they don't know the law and employment standards. They keep it at the bare minimum, and again will try their best not to follow them.

Safety is not about yours, but the company!


Management? I don't even know where to start. It is a joke!


They will not see loyalty as asset, they only see $$$.

Stay away if you can. If you cant, use it as a stepping stone.

It’s regrettable that this relationship didn’t work out for both of us. At Tridon, we commit considerable time and resources – including relocation and housing assistance when need be – so that each new recruit can become a successful part of our team. We give each new recruit every opportunity to learn, grow, and collaborate with that team so that we can all be successful.

This being said, a person’s own attitude and approach to work have a great deal to do with their success on the job.

Lots of good people work at this location. You are treated like family rather than a number if you are good to them. Cons are a personal opinion. All companies have the good and bad. What one company does well, another might not, and vice-versa.

Great environment, great people, fast paced, and there was always something to do. Would recommend working there to anyone who is eager and able to accomplish tasks at a fast pace.

Came to Tridon as an intern during the course of my post-secondary studies. Learned a good deal about practical applications of communications tech in the business/industrial environments. Staff seemed friendly and I gained some insight into what a career in this field would look like.

Enjoyed working with the customers that came into our store. Picked up more than a few customer service skills while I was here. Also got to take part in a few community events like the Santa Claus parade. Stuff like that happened a few times a year and it was a nice change of pace.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time working here. The pace was busy and, at times, a bit chaotic, but there were always plenty of projects to keep me busy. There was certainly no lack of on-the-job training or hands-on experience.

Had it not been for family obligations requiring me to relocate, I would have been happy to continue working at Tridon.

Wasn’t what I went to school for, but it was a good place to work while I looked for other opportunities. Got along well with boss and staff. Benefits were enough for what I needed, and more than I expected in other areas, like glasses.

There are worse ways to pay the bills. Job kept me busy enough and I spent a lot of time out at site. Good techs and a decent shot at overtime/on call work

During my (brief) time at Tridon, I saw it to be accompany in the midst of significant change. I was frequently interviewing candidates so the organization could meet its hiring/staffing goals for its four locations. Many internal policies were also being reviewed and revised as necessary. The culture of the organization seemed largely positive, with most employees getting along with each other, along with the occasional staff lunch or BBQ.

One criticism that should be pointed out, and that is the tendency for the departments to work in ‘silos’, or at arms-length from each other, which can make communication a challenge. Overall, though, this is a good organization with plenty of challenging projects that will help one learn and grow. It simply wasn’t the right fit for me at this stage of my career.

I was with Tridon for a short while before deciding to go back to school. I managed the company’s online presence for the most part (with the occasional side project), which is what I liked doing, anyways. I worked with a friendly group of people who actually made the environment a lot better than some of the other places I’ve worked at.

I worked here for a few years and have no regrets. I had a good group of coworkers and enough repair work to keep busy. The benefits were pretty solid. Left because an opportunity opened up to learn something new with regards to comms tech.

It's got potential. Some good management but lost on communication. Tell you what you want to hear but no where to go. 2 way radio is there thing, but communication is not. Hard to watch a company with potential waste time and money on doing nothing. But good people solid work in 2 way but in the tower department they have no clue.

Tridon has a great culture and are very family oriented. Cannot slight the people. But there is a huge rift between owners, management and employees. The salary gap is huge. The way owners treat employees is laughable and the majority of management have god complexes. The people who actually work? Basically slaves.
For Fort McMurray the pay is terrible. There is no northern living allowance and the salaries for technicians is well below the industry standard for Fort Mac.

The turnover is huge.

They have the right people to make it work but they have their hands tied by dated practices and the owners won't make any changes. The "president" also is in need of retirement. The business is very dated and in need of an overhaul.

There is just no incentive to stay either, other than the people. You can get better in Fort Mac and it's no wonder so many people use it as a stepping stone.

I loved the people. Can't stress that enough. But I fear for the future of the company if change isn't made.

First off, I want to say thank you for the support you showed for our team (your former colleagues / coworkers). You’re right – Tridon does have a family-oriented culture and we’re proud of it.

Secondly, it goes without saying that you left during a time of considerable change and transition. As you may or may not be aware, much of the former management team – including the former President and CEO – has moved on, and a much smaller, highly capable team is now leading Tridon.


With regards to pay: We make considerable efforts to ensure that wages and salaries are competitive for our industry, which includes considerations for Northern Living. We take a structured approach to pay and are committed to compensating all staff members fairly and equitably.


If Tridon has a job opening in the future that’s a right fit for you, we hope you’ll give us another shot.

Workplace was friendly. Daily duties included filing, helping customers and hitting targets. Learned a lot about customer service and gained exsperience.

High turnover of technicians . Work 12 hour days and they expect you to skip break times otherwise you're not a "part of the team ". You have to supply your own tools and you even have to buy your own mouse for the laptop that you share with another worker. The company steadies are a bunch of finger pointers that are not very experienced with working on an industrial site. I witnessed all kinds of harassment going on . I had 3 technicians quit within my first week of working with the company . Working for this company was demoralizing .

I found the work to be interesting, thank goodness I had a few good fellow technicians to work with.

Too much back stabbing going on, company policies are a ridiculous, their safety policies and procedures are substandard, technicians had to do their own time sheets, technicians have to do a pile of other ridiculous paper work, Management has no respect for its workers, too much nickel and diming .

When our technicians work on site, it isn’t uncommon for them to work 10 to 12-hour days, especially if they are on a 7-day rotation. However, this is typical for the oil and gas industry and the industries that support them. Break times are factored into all schedules, rotational and otherwise. Employees are expected to take them, and managers are expected to support them.

Tridon supplies all the necessary PPE for the job site – with the exception of safety boots- as well as cell phones and computers. As with any other industry, professional technicians are expected to provide their own tools so that their preferences can be met, and the job can be done effectively.


That being said, we understand that new tool purchases can be expensive. That’s why Tridon sponsors a Tool Purchase Program which is available to all technicians


Tridon has an industry-leading safety program to meet and exceed the high standards of our clients. Much of the paperwork you referred to as ridiculous is directly related that safety program and reflects the growing, province-wide focus on industrial safety. It is industry standard for technicians to fill out their own timesheets and LEMS so that their time can be accurately billed to a project, and we follow that standard.


We take instances of harassment seriously, regardless of how minor they may or may not seem at the time. Tridon also has robust policies in place, directly addressing workplace harassment and discrimination, and we are committed to enforcing them. That includes ensuring management is trained adequately.
