20 plus years in construction- worst job ever
Pipefitter/Steamfitter (Ancien employé) –  Elkford, BC18 décembre 2019
Management would promise the world and never follow through with anything. Foreman would yell at workers. They were very condescending to all except their friends. Very derogatory to all other workers. Foreman was never out in the site. Workers would get in trouble for not working although 90% of the time there was no work. The WORST JOB OF MY CAREER. Over 20 years in construction

Train Wreck of a company
Pipefitter/Steamfitter (Ancien employé) –  Grande Prairie, AB11 décembre 2019
Was involved with this company on a large gas plant expansion.
First of all, their choice of tradespeople and management for on site was terrible.
Poor work ethic, most workers spent more time trying to hide than working.
What kind of company “forgets” to X-Ray over 300 shop fabricated piping welds.
That’s just one example of how poorly this company is managed.

Destructive Culture-no accountability
Grateful former employee (Ancien employé) –  Elkford, BC25 novembre 2019
No Human Resources Department and it shows. No management support and stressed out people leaving in droves. The "Tradesmen way" is an old school mentality that means using the cheapest equipment, fighting to get support and training, and a dictatorial approach to management. Unprofessional, juvenile and dangerous. Run away.

Labourer/ welder (Ancien employé) –  Dawson Creek, BC8 octobre 2019
I had good interactions with management and other workers. Work was done on time. I learned how to work on my own. They had a good team to work with which was fun

Fast paced, survives off experienced workers
Apprentice (Ancien employé) –  Pipefitter22 septembre 2019
Aggressive business model to stay working leaves shortcomings of planning to fall upon the experienced workers to meet deadline requirements. Pays well enough to survive off but locals avoid it and no LOA or travel.

Last place I’d ever work
Welder (Ancien employé) –  Grande Prairie, AB6 mars 2019
No loa no camp. Drove for 10hrs to get delayed. Zero supply except rod. Next thing you k ow they’ll expect you to supply your own pipe. Companies that pray on those hard up for work shouldn’t get anyone to work for them

Materials Lead/Equipment Operator (Ancien employé) –  Grande Prairie, AB23 octobre 2018
Promised 6 months work but the job was nearing completion after 2 months. Long travel on top of a long work day. No camp or LOA provided. Bus broke down regularly.

Gained experience on field jobs. Later on gained more shop experience
welder (Ancien employé) –  Grande Prairie, AB14 novembre 2017
Have been a welder's helper for six months with two & a half months shop experience. Work place was enjoyable as I learned from cutting pups to specs & fabrication to specs on blueprints-welders helper. Most enjoyed part was at end of shift when management bought farewell dinner to employees.
Points positifs
Mangement farewell parties
Points négatifs
Long hours well worth the cheque at end of shift

Great People to work with.
Welder Apprentice/ Skilled Laborer (Ancien employé) –  Fort Saskatchewan, AB4 janvier 2017
Great job/work life balance. Salary and benefits could be better. If you needed time off, they gave it to you. Though if they needed people to work overtime, on your days off, they only selected certain people. Didn't give everyone that chance. But overall a good place to work.

Good people to work with
JM Pipefitter (Employé actuel) –  Grande Prairie, AB14 décembre 2016
I have only been with the company since Nov. 2016.
We are about to break for Christmas and due to the lack of work through out the province, it is unclear of future work at this time.
The company has been good to me, as have management and co-workers. At this time, I can not give more detail for work/life balance, wages and benefits

Good oppertunity for some if you like Grande Prairie
QC Inspector (Ancien employé) –  Grande Prairie AB13 mai 2014
I liked working for Tradesmen. I found that teaching junior employees was really rewarding and the benifit plan was great.

I would tackle my job with great energy on a daily basis. I continuously kept the QC binders as up to date as possible and tried to stay on top of the visual inspections and checking on the welders at the same time as making sure the materials and fittings were proper for the jobs at hand.
