Toxic Work Environment

Toyota is a place where unfortunately you will not advance unless you take all the verbal abuse and mental abuse you can handle and make sure you NEVER get injured or they will try to make you quit. Management turns a blind eye to any of the workplace harassment that comes to them as well does HR. The Environment is similar to that of high school, everyone has their cliques and you will witness some drama from team members. I have made a few good workers who are genuine people but iv watched them suffer to some heavy harassment. I myself had to quit due to workplace bullying by management. I have seen certain hardworking people who never got to advance when people who were only there for a couple years were rising past them. I learned that this company can replace you the very next day and it will consume your life. I lost the first 2 years of my sons life working here as you will work 10 hr shifts and 6 day work weeks. you will be not be able to balance work life and normal family life. Iv witnessed many divorces due to the lack of being able to maintain and balance both life styles. This Company claims to be family friends in fact it is not. The paycheques are good but not worth sacrificing your home life. BEWARE!

Points positifs

Paycheaque, Coworkers.

Points négatifs

Long Hours, Toxic Managment, No balance in Work and Family Life.

Money good, no life in general- expect to be constantly tired

Management is poor and they have a lack of respect for their employees. They promote advancement and equality but clearly there is no room for advancement And even when you ask to learn more or do more courses, you are denied and told that the courses are for management only. The pay and vacation is good but you also work atleast 48hrs a week and rotating shifts. You will be penalized if you call in more than six times but take into consideration that you will not be given any leaves of absence to go to appointments etc. It is hard to schedule appointments as the shifts are crazy along with the hours.

Points positifs

Money

Points négatifs

Terrible hours, insensitive management, rotating shifts. Repetitive strain on body

Great place to work

If you like a challenging environment, this is the place to be. It may not be the best place to work, but Job security, fair pay and wide range of opportunities for so many profession are available. Its not a place for useful complainants and those looking for easy way out. Some jobs can be demanding. There is always improvements in egornomics in such areas. So far, I'm happy here.

Pay is good, management, hours terrible

It's a good paying job for someone who doesn't have much experience, it was very easy to get in. You are on a contract for 3 years with no dental benefits The hours are long and stressful with mandatory overtime, supervisors will target you for any small defect and treat you negatively. Don't call in until you are full time.

Points positifs

Good pay

Points négatifs

The people

Be prepared to work your ... you know what off

Yes you get excited to join. Looks great ... but when you watch the crew leaving work they all look so unhappy and tired. The assesment is a 5 hours of torture for you to proof you are like a squirel running and moving. Then the interview conducted by some one who knows nothing about HR. That was a joke to me. Learned something ... the company success is based on the factory staff!!

Points positifs

Clean environment

Points négatifs

Managers and supervisors are not encouraging at all.

Applicant Beware!!!!

Let me start off by saying there is a reason they're always hiring and when they do hire it's a large groups of people all at once. From what I heard while I was working there from the people that have been working there a long time was that it use to be a really good place to when it was under management from Japan but after North American management took over everything started going down hill fast. After the initial first couple of months you wonder why everyone is miserable but once that month or so is up you begin to realize that the management here has no sense of organisation, leadership, and common sense. They believe they are infallible, love to abuse their power and when when you approach someone about the issue it is swept under the rug then you are blamed, made to believe its all your fault, that you are lucky to have a job there. Everything is done to protect the management there and if by some chance someone does listen no real consequence is given to them they'll most likely just be moved to another area and you'll have a nice big target painted on your back for all management to see. If after reading this you are still considering working here then I wish you good luck and I promise I won't say I told you so and I hope you start off on a good line with a good group of people working around you (in my experience this won't be an issue), knowledgeable TL's, and a GL that keeps to themselves for the most part.

Points positifs

Co-workers

Points négatifs

Where do I begin.

Do not apply

There is no work life balance. The hours are long and very repetitive. Management is very unprofessional. They want long hours and a faster pace all while you are wearing a mask. Employees mean nothing. Production, profit, and public image is all they care about. It could be 3 years or more to receive dental care too.

Points positifs

A job

Points négatifs

Being in a toxic environment
Avez-vous trouvé cet avis utile?

no personal life

they are production driven and work comes first before your personal life or even your health on site medical is a joke... drugs are a huge problem and management is aware of it their only concern attendance you show up you continue to have a job not concerned about your work ethic or how effort just show up everyday and on time

Points positifs

10 years to get full time pay

Points négatifs

long hours, weekend work shift work shift premiums not worth it

Run !!! Do NOT apply

Work hardening = your body is telling you your body was never intended to do what the company expects you to do all day, so they rotate you on jobs so your whole body aches. Contract time = 3 plus years of abuse, one week off and only 6 un paid sick days a year, takes a wopping 10 years to make full pay rate. Culture= back stabbers and ball washers who will throw you under the bus at any time to make them look good to management. Independent thinkers= Do it their way or no way, you are just a living robot. Management= Poor, they bend their own rules to suit what ever they want. Family life= 10 and 9 hour shifts, your family will miss you and hardly know you. If you get hurt= they will make you work or punish you by making you stand around and do worthless things till you have had enough and return to the line. Overall, make another career choice, money is not everything.. Enough said..

Points positifs

money

Points négatifs

they don't care about your personal life

Great Industry: Poor North American Management

The technologies are close to state of the art. The Japanese method of management is practiced poorly at the Cambridge and Woodstock plants. Management is out of touch with Company wide goals and plans. Confusing direction and wasted technology expertise.

Points positifs

Newer technologies

Points négatifs

Poor management. Mixed messages of requirements.

Not a place for a long career

the work is so fast paced and stressfull that you will have no time for anything else, it is a general labour job and takes about 3 years or longer to become a full time employee.

Be a robot

if your needing a job with no life balance, this is it. Once your full-time you will start to reap the rewards, std, ltd, lots of vacation time, you can start to be lazy and complain like everyone else that works there. HR dont care if you come back, disability benefits company doesnt care about you. So be a robot, dont get hurt, and dont have a life

Points positifs

Good pay once your full time

Points négatifs

Low pay until your full time, and no vacation time

fast paced and hard on the body to work harden for every process

The factory work is difficult at start but the training is efficient enough to slowly get used to the repeat actions required to build cars. The job requires work hardening in the joints of the body that need time to adjust to the fast paced repeat actions. Be prepared to get sore for long periods of time but eventually the body adjusts and job gets easier. It takes 3 and a half years or more to get full benefits and 10 years to get full wage.

Points positifs

good people

Points négatifs

shift work is grinding

Job security

Toyota provides job security and a decent wage to provide for your family. You will work hard for your money. Very fast paced continuous work environment non stop. This being sais if you are looking for a job for life no layoffs good benefits and raises for the next 10 yrs till you reach full rate . Toyota provides stability
