Life sucking Pay Check

Sign your soul away when you get past the orientation. Depending on what area your in, you could love or hate your job. Don’t invest to much time trying to build friendships, you will be disappointed. If your good at “The Game” and talking smack, you’ll be fine. Good luck!

Points positifs

Free swag, clothes and bonuses. Plus an above average pay check

Points négatifs

Long hours, poor moral, Head games

It’s was like going back to high school

This job is stressful. Don’t expect to see your family or be able to get things done. The pay is decent but you can be fired at a moments notice until you’re full time which can take years.

Great job security

This job is good for money and security. There is no life/ balance if you're on 10 hour shifts. Your body hurts, very robotic. Trust me when I tell you your body will pay for it.

Points positifs

Good pay

Points négatifs

Don't be late and don't go over your 6 sick days

Terrible Work environment

I was excited to be a Team Member when I was hired earlier this year. TMMC knows how to market themselves in job advertisements and during orientation though they don't fully explain things like as a contract team member you only get a pro-rated amount of the raises and a reduced amount of bonuses. Also until hired full time (3-4 years) you do not get a proper vacation as 1 week of vacation is pre-booked for the summer shut down which was really soul crushing. Once you get to the work area you'll experience something totally different. I was assigned to assembly which is bone crunching, nerve irritating work. For me, the starting wages are uncompetitive though it does increase yearly with cost of living raises and rate increases to top rate after 8 years of employment, which tenured employees call the "Golden Handcuffs"Fellow Team Members were great as were most Team leaders, however , don't expect ANY support from Group Leaders (The boss of each part of the line) especially newer Group leaders who are trying to prove themselves worthy of their new country club. New employee turn around is incredibly high and for me, afterwards the money just wasn't worth the destruction to my personal life and health. It took me nearly a month to recover back to normal especially due to the rotation shifts. I cannot recommend TMMC other than extreme desperation for a job but even then, is the money worth it?

Points positifs

Quarterly safety gifts, gift cards, free coffee during overtime

Points négatifs

rotating shifts, highly repetitive painful work

Decent Pay, horrible workday/life balance

8 year contract is way too long. Most other co-workers were signed on 3 year contracts and make 40%-60% higher pay, benefits, and vacation yet get preferred job selection and do less work. No layoffs however parts shortages means less hours and unsteady pay. Production line runs way too short no there's never really any bathroom trips other than on break. Breaks are 15mins however sometimes there are not any stalls available, get ready to wear diapers to work everyday. Shifts are in horrible time slots and the horrible parking lot design makes it that support staff leave 30 mins after shift and everyone else is congested. To get into any support position takes 10-years plus, and even earning a living wage takes 4 years.

Points positifs

Average Base Pay, High Bonus Pay, Lots of Overtime, No Layoffs

Points négatifs

Part Shortages, No life balance, No living wage or vacation for 3 years, 8 year contract to living wage, No bathroom availablity

Pay is good, management, hours terrible

It's a good paying job for someone who doesn't have much experience, it was very easy to get in. You are on a contract for 3 years with no dental benefits The hours are long and stressful with mandatory overtime, supervisors will target you for any small defect and treat you negatively. Don't call in until you are full time.

Points positifs

Good pay

Points négatifs

would personally not recommend anyone to work at tmmc. not fit if you have a family. hours are a little crazy. have a 10 year grow in, therefore you have to be there for 10 years before you're at full rate.

Treated like a machine that is expected to have 100% run time efficiency

I worked beside people doing the exact same job earning $20/hr less. No benefits, vacation, spot at lunch table. If your late it counts as a missed day. Culture or hate. Food in cafe expensive. Often had to park more than 1000M from changeroom. Management informed you of zero. Co workers hate one another Awful heLLL hole

No work life balanxe

They work you hard, long weird hours and you do not have much private time if you’re commuting. Co-workers were friendly and made the work bareable. Other than that, not sure how people have worked there for 12+ years..

Very stressful work environment

Very interesting to work up close through what under the surface of a Lexus 350 and 450 Hybrids. Unfortunately the low pay comparing to the reputation, size of production, and work load makes the high turnover rate.

Points positifs

Free uniforms, safety boots, safety prescription glasses.

Points négatifs

Rotating shifts

difficult shifts to maintain outside life

nothing negative to say, just wasn't for me. hard to get into, pays well, hard work and the shifts are hard to get used too. no flexibility when it comes to needing time off but thats typical of factory work

I think a lot of these 5 star reviews are fake

Worked here for 2 years. This was probably the roughest 2 years of my life. I don't think any of the reviews above 4 stars are real. I never got fired from the place, I quit because I found a better profession. First off, the only redeeming quality of Toyota would be If you struggle in a corporate environment or have other issues and completely arent capable of learning a skill (not a knock on anyone) then Toyota will give you a job you can do for 21 an hr and give you roughly a dollar raise every year for 10 years, if the place is still around. That being said, that's the only redeeming quality about the place. This place will destroy your life. The constant shift changing will make sure you never sleep properly. So when you arent sleeping properly year after year your brain will deteriorate. A lot of people will do drugs and drink to help cope with this. Toyota will even give you a drug card right off the bat, but no benefits. Now shift changes from nights to days are found in other jobs as well, but what makes Toyota even worse is the rediculous pace you have to work at. When I started I had been an athlete all my life. I was very fit. I can tell you the savage pace we worked at even shocked me. This is why a person in average shape will always get injured. This is also why having a shift change on a job you literally sprint at for 9 hours is brutal. Your adrenaline combined with no sleep destroys you. Even when you are tired you can't sleep. In my 2 years there, 3 people at Tmmc died - in my opinion all were work related. I remember one was a car crash coming -

Good hours and pay

Great for hours and the base pay is really good. Most places you find wont start at the same rate of pay unless you have specific qualifications with trades or other.

Okay workplace

Basically you have to become a robot to do this job. Pay is okay, benefits are good but probably you wont find any time to use them. Management only cares about money, not workers

Points positifs

Points négatifs

No life work balance

too much work for OK amount of money for first 4-5 years.

if you do no like being a human and fantasize to be robot, join toyota. worse thing is they keep you on contract for almost 4 years. during this years you do same amount of work ur colleagues do and get paid half of what they get. you absolutely have zero second to breathe during any quarter, the processes are usually so tight, you are never too relaxed. few years ago, it was awesome because of the higher pay they used to give. but nowadays they offer almost same amount as many of other industries in Guelph and GT region. internal promotions are usually through connections and takes insane amount of time for a lone ranger.

Read before applying - Worst place to work

The money sounds good but in reality it is far from worth it. I am in my early twenties and this is a good job to get a good savings started, but not for life. Contracts are treated like dirt and all the full timers complain that we have it easy. They got hired on from a contract position in 2 months and got full pay and benefits right away. Contracts now will wait 4 years to get full time, vacation and full benfits PLUS 10 years to get full rate. No one there cares about your family, life, health or mental health outside of the factory. The jobs itself are inhuman. The jobs are over processed and the time they give you to complete a car is insane (no time to even sip your water). They throw you on a job and expect you to learn it so fast that you will end up hurting yourself and it will effect you in the long run. 10 hours Isnt a long shift but when youre working shift work you become a zombie. Getting home at almost 5 in the morning and trying to get your body to sleep is difficult. Youll be on one shift for two weeks and your body will get used to it, then youll have to switch to the opposite shift. Its a constant circle that your body will never be able to adapt to. This company cares for no one but themselves and those are the worst type of employers to subject yourself to. The money isn't worth your happiness.

High-Paying Factory Work

If you are in need of a high-paying job with plenty of benefits, Toyota has a good work atmosphere and an exceptional training centre. This is not a job for the faint of heart. This is a tough, monotonous factory work. If that's good for you, try and apply. They are very selective with who they hire, and if you make the cut they will take care of you. Most employees have been there for years, even decades, and there is a lot of opportunity for advancement and change of station.

Points positifs

High pay, free uniforms, great training, good leaders

Points négatifs

Hard work, long hours, shift work
