Easy work

Avis en vedette

L'avis le plus utile, sélectionné par Indeed
Work was easy to learn, basically just putting parts where they are supposed to go and pressing a button. Management was easy to deal with or talk to, other employees ranged from very nice to always grumpy and complaining. Had to find an empty seat every day for lunch as I was technically a part of a different area but trained in another for 3 months.

Points positifs

- Easy going, Good pay

Points négatifs

- Rotating shifts, Lots of accidents in the parking lots

Good place to work.

Great place, unfortunately not a lot of growing opportunities.Fast paced manufacturing environment with a lot of improvement opportunities. Overall would recommend it.

Points positifs

Schedule flexibility

Points négatifs

Mostly contract positions, close to impossible to become permanent

Work them Co-Ops to the grave

The Co-op work life balance is not there. In a 4mnth stretch I had 3 weekends free that a Saturday or sunday was not required.Lack of training in using software. Overtime was only benefit to be able to bill for all the hours we need to keep.Contractors there were okay to work with but are overworked and have so many balls in the air

Points positifs

Overtime

Points négatifs

Culture
Avez-vous trouvé cet avis utile?

Boring, draining, tiring and toxic.

You will have no social life with mandatory rotating day/afternoon shifts with mandatory overtime Mon-Thurs and Saturdays. Most of your superiors will belittle you. Due to COVID, it is especially stressful working there as they have to catch-up on the downtime they experienced during the beginning of the pandemic. You will not learn anything here. Everything is precisely planned and they expect you to execute it like a robot. The majority of people who work here have been around for 10+ years (it was way better back then) and now they're trapped in a toxic workplace because they can't go elsewhere.

Points positifs

Overtime Pay

Points négatifs

Long Hours Rotating Shifts Tiring Work Easy to Learn

Plenty of work always awaiting and is a nice opportunity for one who really wants to involve in work and make fingers dirty.

Multiple technical people working around, mainly for IT guys team expects one needs to come equipped and dedicate to complete things end to end. One thing i like is management always give chance to do things with quality rather than rework ny giving extra time and help from other teams. Few may miss use, but us a great opportunity to learn and grow if we utilize it.

Points positifs

Flexible start times

Points négatifs

Sometimes i see, If you are good in one area, you may end up doing same for long time, while others get opportunity to learn latest technology

It’s was like going back to high school

This job is stressful. Don’t expect to see your family or be able to get things done. The pay is decent but you can be fired at a moments notice until you’re full time which can take years.

Excellent job security, excellent pay, poor work life balance due to shifts

Worked here for 20yrs, good place to work, good pay at full rate 37/hr +, shifts are no good, working weekends no good, but its a factory so is to be expected. Overall had a great career here. I recommend this to anyone young and starting out in their life.

Points positifs

Lunches, weekend coffee and juice, great pay, lots of opportunity to advance

Points négatifs

Shift work, line work, weekend work, long hrs

A steady decline.

I've worked at TMMC for well over a decade now, worked through nearly 4 years as a contract Team Member, then quickly worked my way up to a production team leader. TMMC use to be a great place to work but the values and Toyota "ideals" have been slowly eroding away for the past decade or so because of the actions of the company itself. Its sickening actually. "Mutual Trust and Respect" one of Toyotas key pillars - out the window! Why would a company who has mutual trust and respect need to monitor their trust worthy Team Members through the use of security cameras both in plain view (and some hidden) through out the production lines of the shop? Why would a company that is so great to work for struggle to keep people from quitting - The front door of this place is constantly revolving. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about TMMC should excite anyone. This place isn't a place to build a career - its a low grade, insult to you as a human job. That is it. The under skilled and under educated continue to promote their friends into positions they have no place being. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and find a way out OR QUIT BEFORE YOU APPLY!

Points positifs

Sundays (They generally can't force you to work these days)

Points négatifs

Anything pertaining to the grounds of TMMC

Great job security

This job is good for money and security. There is no life/ balance if you're on 10 hour shifts. Your body hurts, very robotic. Trust me when I tell you your body will pay for it.

Points positifs

Good pay

Points négatifs

Don't be late and don't go over your 6 sick days

Not for someone who is just looking for a job. Toyota is a career opportunity

Enjoyed my time at TMMC. If you play a supporting role in the Company, accept all the training and career opportunities with the thought mind of a career and Toyota rewards those individuals. Rewards being promotions, Pilot projects, etc.

Points positifs

Know where you stand in Company

Points négatifs

Can have adjusting hours per week, depending on production levels
Avez-vous trouvé cet avis utile?

Too Much

Lines are orchestrated in a way where you don't have time to even have a drink of water or tie your shoes. Mandatory overtime completely takes over your life. You will have absolutely no energy left after work and or on weekends for yourself or your family. Good money but at an extreme cost. They preach a quality work life balance in orientation but what they sell you in training versus what you actually get on the floor are two VERY different things.

Points positifs

Good money

Points négatifs

No work life balance

Garbage company to work for

This place pays well but if you can find something for a bit less...take it.Very toxic work environment. Group Leaders and Team Leaders lie like crazy and will cover for each other. Tons of favoritism in this place as well...only those who stroke the leaders ego get offline time, overtime and immunity from lies. Whenever there is a production issue, the default is that the team member must have done something wrong rather than looking into equipment faults/part quality/training.Its almost like this company looks for things that make the day-to-day bearable then put a stop to it. Takes 15 minutes to get from the parking lot to your job where you need to put on a ton of ppe on your own unpaid time. You lose about 5 minutes of your 15 minute break just walking to and from the mandatory break rooms. Same goes with finding a garbage can.

Points positifs

pay, bonuses, lunches, paid education (must stay a year after completing courses), swag.

Points négatifs

favoritism, lying team leaders with large egos, poor health and safety, lazy management, 30+ unpaid minutes/day (2.5 hrs a week) spent just walking to and from your car.

It was good

You’ll make a ton of money and have all kinds of neat perks. It’s going to eat up a lot of your time though. If you’re looking to just make some money though, then this is the place for you.

Team culture

Team concept, safety are the key roles.Quality goes with out saying.Fast pace , line driven.Training feel comfortable, before advancing.Get involved and you’re career at Toyota will be rewarding.

Points positifs

Lunch & learns, fitness centres

Points négatifs

Long hours, lots of scheduled overtime

It's ok, paid ok, 8 years to hit top rate of $37 /hr

The work in assembly is hard in your body and you'll probably be in a job in assembly for 10 to 14 years. You're paid ok, starting salary is $23/hr and it takes 8 years to get to top rate of $37/hr. Rotating Shift work is terrible on you and your family. 9 hour days and 10 hours afternoons/nights. 4 hour Saturdays sometimes mandatory on day shifts. Benefits are ok and pension is ok. When you start you'll be on contract for roughly 3 years. You get to pick one week vacation and will have an extra week off in the summer and one in the winter.

Points positifs

They pay you

Points négatifs

You have to work there

Decent place

Provides you opportunity to learn a lot. The environment is not very stressful and the company takes care of you. The rotating shifts can be a problems sometimes thoguh

if you want to hate your life, work here

Probably the worst job I’ve ever had, the shift work is not easy. Primarily because the job sucks. repetitive and just annoying, simply put. I dreaded every single day.

Points positifs

Lots of hours

Points négatifs

Shift work, not enough pay, negative environment

Very hard work

Great money, a lot of mandatory overtime. The work is not easy any the pace is very high. Mgmt do not care about the people, only numbers. People are great.

Fast paced

Toyota motor manufacturing Canada is very fast paced working environment. The pay is really good but there's no growth. Hands would get sore after work.

Terrible Work environment

I was excited to be a Team Member when I was hired earlier this year. TMMC knows how to market themselves in job advertisements and during orientation though they don't fully explain things like as a contract team member you only get a pro-rated amount of the raises and a reduced amount of bonuses. Also until hired full time (3-4 years) you do not get a proper vacation as 1 week of vacation is pre-booked for the summer shut down which was really soul crushing. Once you get to the work area you'll experience something totally different. I was assigned to assembly which is bone crunching, nerve irritating work. For me, the starting wages are uncompetitive though it does increase yearly with cost of living raises and rate increases to top rate after 8 years of employment, which tenured employees call the "Golden Handcuffs"Fellow Team Members were great as were most Team leaders, however , don't expect ANY support from Group Leaders (The boss of each part of the line) especially newer Group leaders who are trying to prove themselves worthy of their new country club. New employee turn around is incredibly high and for me, afterwards the money just wasn't worth the destruction to my personal life and health. It took me nearly a month to recover back to normal especially due to the rotation shifts. I cannot recommend TMMC other than extreme desperation for a job but even then, is the money worth it?

Points positifs

Quarterly safety gifts, gift cards, free coffee during overtime

Points négatifs

rotating shifts, highly repetitive painful work

Good pay, at a cost

Yes, they pay is good but it's not worth the toll it takes on your physical and mental well being...you'll hear from most people there to take as much time away from here as possible...listen to them.

Points positifs

Money

Points négatifs

Physical and mental wellness
