Decent Pay, horrible workday/life balance

8 year contract is way too long. Most other co-workers were signed on 3 year contracts and make 40%-60% higher pay, benefits, and vacation yet get preferred job selection and do less work. No layoffs however parts shortages means less hours and unsteady pay. Production line runs way too short no there's never really any bathroom trips other than on break. Breaks are 15mins however sometimes there are not any stalls available, get ready to wear diapers to work everyday. Shifts are in horrible time slots and the horrible parking lot design makes it that support staff leave 30 mins after shift and everyone else is congested. To get into any support position takes 10-years plus, and even earning a living wage takes 4 years.

Terrible Work environment

I was excited to be a Team Member when I was hired earlier this year. TMMC knows how to market themselves in job advertisements and during orientation though they don't fully explain things like as a contract team member you only get a pro-rated amount of the raises and a reduced amount of bonuses. Also until hired full time (3-4 years) you do not get a proper vacation as 1 week of vacation is pre-booked for the summer shut down which was really soul crushing. Once you get to the work area you'll experience something totally different. I was assigned to assembly which is bone crunching, nerve irritating work. For me, the starting wages are uncompetitive though it does increase yearly with cost of living raises and rate increases to top rate after 8 years of employment, which tenured employees call the "Golden Handcuffs"Fellow Team Members were great as were most Team leaders, however , don't expect ANY support from Group Leaders (The boss of each part of the line) especially newer Group leaders who are trying to prove themselves worthy of their new country club. New employee turn around is incredibly high and for me, afterwards the money just wasn't worth the destruction to my personal life and health. It took me nearly a month to recover back to normal especially due to the rotation shifts. I cannot recommend TMMC other than extreme desperation for a job but even then, is the money worth it?

Management are Evil

You honestly get treated like dirt! The shift work leaves no time for family, your always exhausted, it’s never enough for them!! Faster, less quality !! Feels like willingly going prison everyday!

It's ok, paid ok, 8 years to hit top rate of $37 /hr

The work in assembly is hard in your body and you'll probably be in a job in assembly for 10 to 14 years. You're paid ok, starting salary is $23/hr and it takes 8 years to get to top rate of $37/hr. Rotating Shift work is terrible on you and your family. 9 hour days and 10 hours afternoons/nights. 4 hour Saturdays sometimes mandatory on day shifts. Benefits are ok and pension is ok. When you start you'll be on contract for roughly 3 years. You get to pick one week vacation and will have an extra week off in the summer and one in the winter.
