A typical day at work involved me greeting customers, seating them, and checking up on them every now and then to see how they were doing. I would also take orders and serve or package them for takeout. At the end of the day I would complete my cleaning tasks which included vacuuming, sweeping, polishing silverware, and cleaning the bathrooms, as well as making sure the host stands and takeout areas were fully stocked.
I absolutely loved working here and learned so much about myself and the culture of a customer service job. My conflict resolution skills improved and I also learned what being a part of a supportive work environment is like. The people I met are family to me and I am lucky to have had such amazing coworkers.
The workplace culture was lighthearted and fun but was also focused on success and goals were expected to be met. We all had a great time while doing great work.
The hardest part of the job was having to deal with frustrated customers who had to be put on a waiting list when the restaurant was full.
The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting people and helping them have the best experience possible. That and making friends with my coworkers.
