Great place to grow as a team. Lots of room for advancement. Engaging and interesting material as tech industry is constantly evolving. They offer all kinds of ressources and incentives to help you succeed. I've never been with a company that has such a great onboarding process.
Discount on Internet, home services and cellphones. Also, full benefits.
I am a full time university student and working at the source is both a good place to work and also the income you get is fairly decent. The store I currently work at has a very good work environment, which is a very important factor to consider for a job. Working at the source really improved my customer service skills; the only downside is having a very competitive environment as each of the associates will have to achieve their monthly goals.
The Source is a great company to work for, team atmosphere, self initiative is important. if you have a passion for technology you'll be a definite fit for the job.
lots of prizes and free lunches
hours are not consistent annually.

On the surface, this company sounds like a fun environment where you sell tech products to customers and help with day to day technical problems that clients have. In reality, your goal is to aggressively cross sell to Bell and Virgin services, which include cellphones, home phones and tablets. Failure to meet monthly quotas for selling contracts will quickly lead to performance reviews and if you can't confidently sell cellular services to people who didn't intend on buying them when they walked through the door, this job is not for you. If you are an avid salesperson, and are able to sell these products, the compensation is reasonable and selling 10+ devices in a month will net you hundreds of dollars in extra commission.
discounts on tech devices, lots of experience in tech
management will breath down your neck if you don't hit targets, bad hours
Source have a good culture in there business and group is awesome. Good communication skills from management to their Associates. You get recognized regularly with your Handwork and commission rate is awesome compare to any other retail store in Canada. Thank you
Very limited availability, great staff, clean storefronts, Great place to find the latest tech and try it out for yourself. The culture at the source is fantastic would recommend to anyone
Commissions, Team Mentality
Stressful, Part time starting, Minimum Wage
Working at the Source means variable hours, selling products (but mostly phones and home services), and troubleshooting problems with said phones and services. Day-to-day at most locations is pretty slow. But phone and home service targets means you always have something to reach for. Can get stressful when your leaders pressure you to bridge every sale to wireless/home services, whether someone is buying a pair of headphones or a pop socket. As with most places, it’s fun if you have a good team to work with.
Commission on everything you sell, discounts, benefits
Competitive, stressful to reach targets, slow during off season
Typical day helping customer's find what they need and what fits their interests Learned the ways of a sales associate Workplace culture medium paced environment and not much stress included Management understanding managers hardest part of job when nobody is in the store in order to get business to flow Enjoyable moments when I achieved my best and the manger took me out for lunch for a reward of my hard work. a raise for working hard
Positives: -Great Coworkers/Manager -Great Commission depending on the time of the year -Good Discounts Negatives: - Pay is awful (Minimum Wage) /Commission is good only in the holiday season -Too much pressure to sell bell products & services -Becomes very stressful very soon -Bell Let's talk is a joke (if they don't care about the mental health of their own employees, why would they care about other people's.
If you are looking for a commission based job where being a Bell sales drone is rewarded, The Source is for you. Otherwise, this job will break you down - hiding in the back room crying while customers demand to yell at you because Bell screwed them over on their phone bill.
As long as you're a capable seller this job is great. Their base wage plus commission structure felt very fair and rewarding. I was given the support I needed to develop my selling skills and then guidance whenever there was room for improvement.
subsidiary of bell yet direct competition with bell by physical proximity, clingy uniforms, poor training, no background check, company neglect for smaller scale stores. They deny sick leave without consideration that in a small store the staff will get each other sick if sick leave not granted.
There's a lot of opportunity to excel in one of the biggest location at Calgary, Chinook, where I worked. Management could be better but The Source definitely has a lot of up side. The amount of money you can make depends on your drive and passion for working hard. Not a place for earning minimum wage.
