Is The Source the worst company to work for? No. Do I think that you need to be prepared for a specific type of work to do well here? Yes. The job involves a lot of hard sales—be prepared to cold pitch Bell services on every sale. How much you like your job will depend on your manager. They may micromanage you to death or leave you to flounder. If you have the personality that thrives in a high pressure, primarily commission sales job, you’ll do great.
Low wage, long hours, heavy sales job
Great place to grow as a team. Lots of room for advancement. Engaging and interesting material as tech industry is constantly evolving. They offer all kinds of ressources and incentives to help you succeed. I've never been with a company that has such a great onboarding process.
Discount on Internet, home services and cellphones. Also, full benefits.
I enjoyed the day to day activities of working at The Source. Unfortunately the company had major culture problems which poisoned the experience from the top down. This included targets and goals that were pushed so hard that we were told to use deceptive and illegal practices to sign people up with cell phone contracts.
I enjoyed working for the source I worked there for 6 years. However there is alot of preassure to be at the top of your game all the time. High turnover is what I experienced..

The company was great for the first two years. Then they got really pushy with customers, but refused to stock what customers wanted. This was a lose-lose situation, with upper management deliberately sabotaging stores outside of large population centres.
They are only bothered about people who are selling cell phones and leadership is a joke over there. Higher management is only worried about their quotas and nothing else. There are no chances to grow within the company and customer service is a big joke because leaders keep changing and it's a complete mockery of people management. Leaders are not people friendly and don't care about people. they are just worried about monthly quota and being in green. Workplace culture is the worst as leaders/higher management don't help in coming out of a situation and moreover dig dirt on subleaders. Highly not recommended to work.
Pay is pretty good with comission but alot of work and upper management goes behind your back. Fired without cause because my assistant manager "Joe" blow was comiting fraud and management does anything to keep from not losing money
Source was a great place till 2016. Change in leadership brought the company to under valuing employees. Managers tossed away that were successful just cause their immediate bosses were insecure. Pressure to do better even even when double year before sales. No support to remove staff not completing job. DM turning staff against manager.
Could set own wage
Undervalued, remote locations ignored with no support from DM
I started as an Associate in 2006 and in few months promoted to Assistant Manager. By January 2007 again promoted as Manager. From there moved to different locations . The best part of working at The Source is to get hands on New Cellphones / Electronic Devices / Cool Gadgets. I enjoyed the Annual Conventions , where all Managers from across Canada used to come for 3 Days. And the Best Moment which I will remember is When I was presented a Diamond Ring for winning Leaders Club Award in 2008, most prestigious award at Source.
A typical day is spent serving customers coming into your store. Each store is typically pretty busy which allows for a great opportunity to earn commission.
