Would typically work a varied amount of half or full day shifts at The Source, mainly at management's discretion. Would often be engaging with customers, cleaning around the store, or restocking items. Lots of pressure to sell cell phone plans, always have to mention them some time during checkout or when a customer is browsing around, but you're paid fairly well if you succeed. Selling electronics takes a bit of a backseat to cell phone plans, which sometimes catches customers off guard. Lots of metrics available to see if you are doing well or poorly amongst your peers, that may make or break the group dynamic depending on employees and/or management at the workplace, which for me was thankfully very collaborative and accommodating.

Let's begin with the interview process - 5 rounds for a PT Seasonal position, are you kidding me?Not sufficient training. The management & local staff interacted amongst themselves & were cooking up something against me.I got terminated despite doing great with sales, exceptional cx service, & keeping cool with every team member. Guess someone didn't like me & he/she complained & I got terminated w/o being provided a reason despite them talking big talks how they took care of their employees during Covid. Also, no warning or reason behind termination. Smh!

They make you peddle useless tablets and 'deals' to customers in a very pushy way. This leads to customers getting mad and downright aggressive. I was yelled at by customers many times (and I wasn't the one making mistakes). It's also too competitive which leads to infighting amongst staff over who gets the newest customer. This lead to a 'shark-tank' type scenario where employees would like circle waiting to jump on new customers. This makes the customers feel very weary about shopping at the source. The Management sucked. There's no room for advancement really unless you dedicated YEARS of your life to a silly retail job. Pay was decent.

Push bell down people's throats; lose lunches and breaks and managers dont care. Training that is only applicable at some of the more well equipped stores. An absolute mess.

Expected us to have a "cell phone converstation" with every customer while working at a store in a low income area. Really hard to build rapport when following a script. District manager had a bad attitude.

If you want to work in a place where you are being put down everyday, yelled at, made fun of and none of the higher ups will listen to you? then this is the place for you! From furry suits at work, to attitude problems, & bullies, it just keeps on going downhill from there. 110% would not recommend wasting your time at this place. Your hours will be cut to nothing if you ever disagree with your co-workers at all, its always an argument over the littlest things there.

you have to work hard to earn hard, but they give you all of the tools to succeed and work with you to achieve your goals! The team and management are wonderful and you learn a lot working there.

On the surface, this company sounds like a fun environment where you sell tech products to customers and help with day to day technical problems that clients have. In reality, your goal is to aggressively cross sell to Bell and Virgin services, which include cellphones, home phones and tablets. Failure to meet monthly quotas for selling contracts will quickly lead to performance reviews and if you can't confidently sell cellular services to people who didn't intend on buying them when they walked through the door, this job is not for you. If you are an avid salesperson, and are able to sell these products, the compensation is reasonable and selling 10+ devices in a month will net you hundreds of dollars in extra commission.

But my manager was a doorknob. He spent working hours on his personal cell phone and would leave at 11am and show up at the end of his shift to clock out. Was stealing money from the company and when we reported it they said nothing. The store is gone now but other than the management I had, it was a great place to work, I enjoyed the customers, I enjoyed the work, it was great.

A typical day at work would be dealing with customers to help them learn more about our products and making sure we address their concerns. Great workplace culture with friendly staff.

Its pretty tedious for a retail job but you get used to it after a while. Kinda too competitive with the other stores in the lower mainland and it felt like you were under a microscope at times. Good training and usually nice customers.

working here for the holiday rush was a really great time, the manager was very understanding if something or someone bothered you, co-workers very kind and welcoming over all amazing place to work

After giving over 4 years of my life to this place it was shocking and saddening to find out just how unimportant I was to them. They denied me an important vacation that I gave 3 months notice for. I had to fight hard for them to let me take the trip and they assured me I would have a job to come back to but they lied. Be careful prioritizing your family over the job with this place

The manager was more concerned with hitting their bonus every month and didnt care how much pressure they put on their staff. I was promised a promotion then they gave it to someone else while I was on leave.

This is a great place to work if you’re in school. Upselling is huge for this job, make sure that you are willing to upsell to every single customer who walks through the door, even if they just came in to buy a battery

Too stressful and manager yells if team doesn’t meet deadline. Wouldn’t be mad if they treated every employee the same. Someone gave me good advice for this job. If you’re someone who talks the managers happy even if you get nothing done. So just talk
