I really enjoyed working at the paddle station, great work environment. It was physically challenging at times but overall very fun. Everyone was very nice and all like-minded people!

This company would be a lot of fun to work for if it was managed properly. Working on the river side all summer was fun but challenging work. Coworkers were great, everyone got along nicely. The scheduling could be a lot more organized. Time and time again the manager would group message everyone last minute looking for people to come in, since they were usually short staffed. Like any seasonal, outside job, it is very weather dependent; unfortunately if there are many rainy days, you won't have great hours or paychecks. Manager / Owner has a tendency to say inappropriate things about female staff members. Overall, would not recommend working here.

I worked at the paddle station for 2 seasons and loved it! The crew and management were so friendly and helpful through my entire experience. The environment was awesome, I would highly recommend!

I was skeptical to apply due to a lot of negative reviews. They seemed to be handling it based on the excuse that it was disorganized and non-functional because it was their first year. Let me tell you, it's their third year and nothing has changed. Do yourself a favour and don't bother applying for this company. It is a nice work environment, being by the river on the sun, working with like-minded individuals, but unfortunately, poor management ruins the experience. Partners complain a lot, being scheduled literally on the same day of work and not being notified, or not being scheduled at all because there's too many of them. Constant last minute requests to stay longer. Probably one of the worst managed jobs I've ever worked at.

My time here wasn't great, although a good learning experience for me.

In my short time there were no set hours or work days; it was mostly emails and texts asking for tasks to be completed asap, sometimes without instruction or background information. Tasks being asked of me included posting to Instagram, writing and sending professional letters, organizing contests and events, and updating web content. As a beginner, and an unpaid intern, who was also working full time, I found it difficult to take the lead on projects.


I was skeptical from the start (partly because during the interview, my employer didn't ask many questions about me, went pretty off topic, told me hundreds of people had applied, and then hired me on the spot), but I took this position with hopes of getting work experience, learning a thing or two about marketing, and possibly growing with the company. However, the more time went on, the more red flags started popping up. In the end I found it to not be worth my time, as it was an unpaid position. My overall experience here felt unprofessional and I left with the impression that I was being used for few weeks of free work until a more experienced company was able to start.

Thank you for your feedback. We will strive to do better and hopefully clarify our expectations to intern volunteers more effectively in the future. It is very difficult for any businesses to keep any employees that are not available for weekend shifts or cant meet our high customer service expectations. I hope that you will one day realize the opportunity that you were given, and hopefully, use it as an opportunity to grow.

Additionally, we really do go through hundreds of applicants to find the candidates that suitably reflect our fun-loving and customer-centric culture. Sadly we may not get this selection correct all the time, but we do try our best to nurture and empower every member of our team as they were our own family member. I'm truly sorry that it didn't work out with us. Please feel free to contact any of the senior team for any valuable feedback.

difficult place to work, long hours that didnt work with my schedule, expected you to be able to work over time which isnt a fair expectation. furthermore they barely gave any shifts out.

Thank you for your feedback. Last year was a tough one for us, as it was our first year, and staff were well aware of that, so shifts were not always guaranteed due to weather, demand and river conditions. We will strive to do better and hopefuly clarify our expectations and shedules more effectively in the future. Thanks again for the feedback, it because of you that we grow.

Great place to work. Management has a genuine interest in staff's job satisfaction and customer service. Work outdoors on the river's edge. Perks include free rentals for staff (and guest(s)).
