very nice place

I love it , I learn a lot with the home depot , specially I am new comer to the country , the management and the team are very supportive and helpful

Needs more coaching with helping other departments

Enjoyed working there. HD appreciates your availability, but doesn't look favorably when situations arise that prevent you from going to work. They should have a slush fund of associates who want to be on call to fill in. These associates would need cross training but a person who can help you is better than nothing. That person has resources to get required info. Complaints of not enough staff is the #1 concern. It is also dictated by sales and the economy.

Special days, feature days could be funny hats, dress up..., bbqs, pancake breakfasts, birthday cake for that months birthdays, there is an emphasis on training to make associates knowledgeable and able to be discretionary

Points négatifs

Lack of communication. Most associates are part time and are not always made aware of new, changes, etc

A bitter sweet experience: perfect for the right people

The company takes care of their employees. You will never be shouted at. Salary is barely enough to get by and it is advised to have a second job. Work hours can be hectic and therefore part time work is recommended. Working full time you won’t have energy to do much with your life after your job.

Promising but overall a typical management first mentality.

The first year I spent here the workplace was great, it was easy to advance with badges and it was a good mental challenge over all, but past that first year it fully just cut off. If you work hard you are expected to do the work of 5 or 6 people and requests to hire to understaffed departments are largely ignored or you are straight up told it isn't going to happen. At the moment the average new person is only making it a couple weeks, and many people are fired or let go just before their 3 months probation is up or are only hired under seasonal contract. It is incredibly stressful to know that if even one person takes a sick day you could be working alone in your department and expected to answer all calls and work your butt off for very little benefit. Some perks are the benefit package for both full-timers and part-timers though full-time has more to it, and the cash rewards when gaining new badges for going above and beyond. The problem lays in that once you go above and beyond you are expected to stay there and gaining anything more is almost impossible. Advancement has gone from being able to take up any full-time position that is vacated by applying, to the company only outsourcing for their full-time positions and not granting to internal employees. Curbside for my store was also an utter nightmare. We settled into a system the 2nd lockdown and during the 3rd they trashed all of it and then set all our orders to pick from home even if we didn't have the item in stock so people would come to pick up orders that we hadn't even checked yet.It was chaotic and beyond -
