Very nice environment to work in. The job demands your effort and the managers are great. Starting your day at work is very straightforward. Make sure you have the cars you need for the day. Count how many cars you have and report it to your superiors. The best part of the job is that you get to learn how to enhance your communication skills with customers.

Not a good place to work. Management didnt know anything he wasnt even a partsman he was a salesman. Coukd not help locate hard to find parts. Did not respect hard work you would do

I still work here as a vsa, its alright when it comes to work load. as long as you hit the numbers they require you to do, you will be alright. Never had a problem with them so far.

this is one of the worse place to work. Management are unreliable,Payroll department very dishonest and HR do not know what their roles are and cannot provide guidance to employees.Working conditions are very poor in the winter months.Poorly maintained facilities near Pearson Airport.
The wages are poor and there are no opportunities for ambitious employees.

Great place to work you get to drive all diffrent types of cara,vans trucks ect

As for management not so great they have this "open door" policy if you have an issue you can always talk to them except the managers door is always closed and he's always "busy" also the communication between employees and managers aren't really there

An improving workplace
VEHICLE SERVICE ATTENDANT (Ancien employé) –  Halifax, NS2 avril 2019
I worked with Hertz for nearly 2 years. A typical day would involve cleaning and fueling the vehicles, making sure they had all the proper documentation, checking for damage and either parking them in the lot or driving them to the parkade. I personally did not learn anything i didn't already know, as I had previously worked at another rental company. The job wasn't physically challenging as I am active, and wasn't mentally challenging in any way. The workplace culture was mostly respectable aside from the two washbay supervisors that were let go from their positions shortly after my termination. They were rude, hard to talk to and were not concerned about the mental health of the employees they supervised. The hardest part of my job was the busy summer days. Tight schedules and a high number of returning vehicles made for lots of work, though I never found it particularly challenging. The most enjoyable part was making great friends with many of the employees, friends i still see to this day. If you're young and looking for a job, they aren't a bad choice, they've improved since I left.

Good job to have but not work towards, long application process with long computer training people end up cheating on anyway seems pointless for basic knowledge, if you can get past the application form it can take up to a week to hear back and shifts can switch from early days to late-night etc

- A typical day can be very tiring due to the 11 hour shifts, and the lack of consistency
- did not learn anything new, it was all basic customer service skills that I had acquired
- I appreciate the one on one conversations you can have with the customers and build that relationship
- Management at the location I work at is very poor, with little to no problem solving skills.
- Poor workplace culture teaches you to judge the customers before hand.
- The hardest part of the job is working with impatient and ignorant coworkers.
- The most enjoyable part of the job is providing the best possible service for the customers and making their day.

Fun workplace and great team

Working at the airport location is a lot of fun - the team there is great, and you easily start to recognize the regular clients that come in every week, and start a good rapport with them.
Management is also great. Very easy-going, and always lets you know what you can improve on.
Getting commission on top of the hourly wage is a definite bonus, and you can earn a decent amount if you work hard for it.
