Worked in customer service and the way the supervisor speaks to people is absolutely disgusting. No respect or common decency. There’s a huge amount of favouritism, which means none of the work load is evenly distributed. Unrealistic expectations from management, but only for some employees. Employees had the joke that ERB stood for “Everything Runs Backwards”. They state they offer yearly bonuses and raises which they don’t.

The immediate staff you work with on the shop floor is great. I’ve developed many friendships at this job over the years. They offer decent benefits, RSP and TFSA matching. The management for the shop is not the greatest. They do not care about their employees, everyone is just a number and you will be treated as so. There is no incentive to do a good job. Showing up is the really the only criteria, you eventually come to the realization that hard work and dedication gets you no further ahead so why bother.

What is the best part of working at the company?Very few things if anything comes to mind, the dock crew were good and most of the drivers were friendly.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Schedule constantly changing, hours being cut, boss and managers ignoring any questions you may ask pertaining to the job, blatent favoritism, the list goes on.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Tense and the expectation to come to work even if roads are closed due tk dangerous conditions, always under appreciated for hard work, higher ups care for drivers and will throw bbqs for drivers and office staff but do not care as it is scheduled during prime dock worker hours. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Right from clock in it is the same old routine with 0 variation, when I was first hired I had received no actual training, I was told to simply observe but when given 1 task I could not observe the other tasks being done, was expected to know everything with 0 training and 0 opportunity.

An honest and fair company to work for

I am honored to contribute to the growth of our local community, in a positive and productive manner. A typical day at work includes a 6am truck check 6:30am leave the yard to pick up and secure my load. Pick up my shipping papers and punch them into my computer before leaving to my first destination. I am allowed to take two separate 15 minute breaks if I want and an unpaid lunch. However, I bring my lunch and coffee so I work through my breaks sometimes. Whereas there are days that I will need an extra coffee to deal with traffic. When I get back to the Baden terminal, I clean out the trailer, wash the truck, fill it with fuel and DEF if need be… before I head back to the yard to preformA final truck check, punch out, submit my log sheet and BOL and then go home for the day.

Stressful and sometimes fun

When work is overloaded they will stress you to complete trucks and trailers as fast as possible with no help. If you don't do overtime than they will be disrespectful towards you even if you are doing your agreed shift as we all know overtime is a choice not an obligation.

If you have to go to work each day it should be at a place where you don’t feel stressed and where you can have a little fun mixed in your day!!! Erb Transport has that covered. I would like to write a review as I got this job through indeed and I am very grateful to working with Erb group of companies as productive workplace ,very friendly and supportive staff.Everybody is trying to help you ..you can ask questions anytime . Furthermore, we face some hardships too because when you join new company you have lots of questions such as Do they like my work ? If I did do any mistake etc .But now I feel very confident to working there as I can learn much more everyday .

From day one Erb has been there to help, worked for a couple of trucking companies and Ebr bar none is the best. Erb pays well and gives you enough hours to survive in this crazy economy. Please don't work for these trucking companies that pay less then at least $26 an hour let's drown them out, Ebr pays more and takes care of it workers.GO ERB.

I know firsthand they’re falsifying parts of the driver compliance process, with full management knowledge. And office employee wages aren’t at all equitable but we’re asked to stay silent. Not a great culture when you’re asked to do work against ethical values.

This has been a great place to start my career and introduction to the corporate world. I've been given many opportunities to participate in team projects and learn. Strongly reccomend Erb for new graduates!

Long Term Employees treated poorly - high turn over rate

This company was once great to work for, but you are no longer treated like family but as an employee number. There is a high turn over rate, which puts pressure on the long term staff to pick up the slack. The wages stay stagnant once you have been working here a few years . There are a few very good managers here and even they are feeling the shift in how things are operated. A good chunk of the managers have huge egos, but don't know how to perform tasks within their department to help out. The managers also put blame on other departments and be little them . They have lost touch with the fact we are all playing for the same team. You will also see other departments receive new equipment and others using bandaid solutions to keep things working. If you want entry level experience in transportation or office administration duties this is the only positive for working here. Put a year in and move on to better things, as this ship is sinking fast.

They are right on top of their game, everyone has at least 10 years of experience working there, some had 20, 30 years. Friendly staff at the Montreal terminal. They need to adjust their training program for new employees and it will be a lot better if they will get something like Samsara ELD tracking to provide their customers with live GPS tracking.

co-workers were great, they are friendly and appreciate your efforts which is great because management couldn't care less about your effort. Leaving was not because of work, type or load, or pay, but entirely on poor management.
