High stress
The expectations put on employees are unreasonable, business practices are outdated as many contacts do not want to be cold-called while they are are at work. Looming threat of losing your job for not meeting unreasonable targets which are always changing. If you're doing well and coming to your target it will get pushed higher to make you do more, making it impossible to reach goals.

Everyone doing the same job....
The only thing I didn't like was people with less experience were getting paid 2 or 3 dollars more then me. The job was hard at first then it became easy and the goals were easier to accomplish. The management both were really unprofessional and one did no work at all and was very lazy, I had to leave my job because of that managers behavior. The CEO is an awesome person, very professional and really well behaved and down to Earth, who cared about the company and the employees. Always helped others to succeed and gave amazing examples of success and achievements.

Productive and fun place to work at along with a great team.
Fast paced environment that requires someone who is a quick learner. SOPs are to be built and followed. Need to continue building documentation. The accounts are exciting to work with.

Great Management
Pros

-Competitive wages -Great atmosphere -Tons of opportunity for growth -A lot of variety in daily tasks -Great opportunity for self-improvement -Great management The management team puts in a ton of effort to create an environment that lets its employees excel and succeed, from great meetings in the mornings to a longer lunch to really break up the day, they are passionate about their work and it really is contagious. If you're willing to put in the work with this company they will work very closely with you to make sure you excel. The company is also growing very quickly so there's a lot of room to grow within it, there are a lot of opportunities to be explored.


Cons


It can get monotonous at times, but it's broken up by the various contracts available. You will be sitting most of the day making calls so if you're someone that needs to be on their feet and active it's something you should really consider. If you've worked in outbound calling before and really hated it then this might not be for you, but I will say the contracts I've worked on here have been a huge jump up from previous jobs I've had, and there are somewhere I genuinely enjoy making the calls.

This is a numbers based organization: you need to ensure you can deliver the numbers. There are people around you to provide assistance and you need to know how to draw on these resources, need to know how to work hard and work smart to ensure you can meet/exceed targets. If you can exceed targets consistently, then bonuses/commissions are uncapped! and you can move up within the organization since it's a small company.

People are very friendly, like a family, again because it's a small organization.


Need to have a thick skin or be able to succeed under high pressure/rejections - you're faced with a lot of no's on the calls, can't let the affect you.


There are morning meetings for personal and professional development, potlucks close to the long weekends, pingpong table, etc...

A very good place to start your career
Overall a fantastic company to launch your career, the management team are very friendly and helpful. I learn so much at Alea, not just from the technical perspective, but also the soft skills and the work ethics. Whether you gonna stay or moving on to next job, the lessons learned at Alea will become an important asset in the future.

I can't say much for the business specialist, but as Data Analyst, I received good training and I can see that the management keep improving in the training process for the reps as well.


It is the place for the hard-working, honest people, you will earn depends on your effort, and there is the path to elevate. To my knowledge, all of the management team were business specialist before.

When things are good as in the numbers are up everything is great! When the numbers are down management takes away things like go home early bonuses and extracurricular activities. This job is cold calling businesses, sometimes you have a contact name and sometimes you don't. If you have sales experience then this is the job for you! The training they provide is mostly just about specifics of what you will be pitching. Very little training goes into how to pitch. For the most part you are instructed to follow a script. After a couple of days, management will give you more information on how to actually sell something and what to say (probably should be covered in training). They will go on the phone with you when you are close to closing a deal.

This position has a very high turnover rate if you don't succeed within the first few weeks you are gone. Employees have meetings at the beginning of the day which are sometimes useful and sometimes are not. Some of the videos being played to the company are completely unrelated to anything and are borderline useless. The morning meetings can consist of a game, video or a lecture from management. Most lectures from management are negative and are used to scare you into working much harder.
