Telus has a great work environment. They are very collaborative in their approach and they pay fairly. Very open culture for all walks of life. I would highly recommend as an employer.
Strong leadership, Clear expectations, Paid fairly, great benefits
TELUS is very much an abusive organization. Way to many ppl have been there way to long and they have roles they should not be in. Nepotism is HUGE in TELUS so be careful who you talk to. Management is NOT accountable. The customer service is terrible, no training and belittled if you don't know something and you ask questions. Upside, it's a remote work place so you work from home mostly and on the road when meeting clients.
Nepotism, bullied, unfairly treated, favouritism

Good pay/benefits Commission was never paid and would take at least 6 months until contracts were registered for target relief so your quota was never real time or accurate Senior manager was intimidating and insulting which would spread to rest of team resulting in a culture of exclusion and junior high mentality. I wont endorse or recommend a company that allows this type of culture/behaviour
a lot of investment in the workforce continuous learning great management awesome workplace culture no part of the job was too hard the team effort on every task made it enjoyable
This entire company is amazing, the people, the policies, the work environments, all of it! Great room for advancement now and job growth. Always learning and growing, with amazing support and encouragement from higher-ups!
Slightly odd hours compared to the "normal" 9-5 job. Sometimes requires work outside of work hours.

A typical day for me requires either B2B or cold calling. I book meetings with potential clients, to discuss their company needs and what business solution is best for them. Should the client show interest I present them with a proposal and close the deal. I have lots of follow ups and deal at times with client issues. I also network a lot and try to attend conventions that may bring business, Hardest part is when your competition comes better in pricing.

I enjoyed my time working for Telus, the people the management and also the customers I dealt with on a daily basis. I would definitely recommend working for this company.
working until midnight
My grandmother passed away one month into my employment with Telus. I was a contract worker on a 6 month contract, we were not allowed any time off. I had to miss being at my grandmothers bedside when she died, so I could hopefully gain full time employment. My manager had no sympathy and no understanding,
Contract workers are at the mercy of their manager
Learned a lot about Telecommunications, dealing with highly emotional people, and helping to educate and empower customers rationally and logically. Shift work wasn't ideal, and the metrics they would record were very draconian in nature. So much so it was just laughable at best. Great staff/co-workers for the most part.
